To anyone stuck in a situation like this; grow a pair and do something about it. No matter what it is, just doing something will pay off. Trust me.
And don't confess feelings for someone over a chat program.. If you really want to, then you will find some time with the person you like, ask him/her you just want to talk about something quickly, or go get a coffee or a snack. Being honest is the best thing you can be.
If you stay in this situation forever then you obviously don't want it badly enough. If you did then you would do something.
