For anyone wondering, those are called lichtenberg figures.

Getting struck by lightning can give you scars with these patterns. Must hurt like hell, but it leaves one badass scar.

Hey everyone, physics student here, ready to explain whats going on: This is a Lichtenberg figure, they are made by bombarding a block of plastic with an EXTREMELY high voltage, then the special plastic traps the electric current inside the plastic. What is seen here is the man releasing the charge from the plastic by giving the electricity a way out of the plastic, the electricity travels near the speed of light out of the plastic into the nail, and out the grounding wire, in superheated paths, melting the plastic in the areas it traveled leaving the scars you see, as a "tree" so the thing happening here is the electricity is actually moving out not in. - Thanks
