well no shit, that's how speed affects our perception everywhere

i'm not going to explain it all because it's common sense, but driving is the perfect example to set this "mindfuck" in motion. just look forward onto the road, then look to the side. seems slower when looking forward, but seems quicker when looking to the side, so there you go, there's your emphatically ridiculous "mindfuck" in reality
