some beauty contest for toddlers, the whole thing is extremely tragic but these two are daughter and mum and you can see they both think they're ******* beautiful and the my is forcing her to put everything into winning this horrible contest.

i've heard it's what the girl wants to do. But still, I hate beauty contests for little kids, probably one of the most unhealthy things for their development. But whatever, I'm not in a pageant and i'm not forced to watch them so they don't affect me.

anything adults force significantly on their children is wrong. you should bring them up in a civil manner and let them choose for themselves who they want to be, what they want to believe. just like the vast majority of christians nowadays are just christian because that's how they were brought up, not their choice. i'm sure if it was up to them at the right age they would refuse.

yeah but raising somebody to be a christian is alot better than this pedophile pagent. i mean ugly mom pushing thier dreams. i mean whore moms making whore daughters. i mean a sin to everything decent. i mean **** it you get the point.

Indefinitly, but i'm sure it'll just become another thing to remember you did as a kid.

Or the first step of becoming obsessed with their appearance.

Only one problem with this, kids don't actually really develop a very good sense of what they want/what is right or wrong until you TEACH IT TO THEM. You can't really ask them to make that choice until you teach them how to make choices, and in the case of people that aren't neutral-minded for the most part/aren't engrossed in their culture, their bringing up of the child will teach them to choose christianity/whatever culture aspect we're talking about in the end.

So you kind of have the problem of: You can't ask them to make choices because you haven't taught them how to make choices but while you're teaching them how you are infallably influencing them with your own views on the world.

I hear that kids don't truly create their own independant ideas/thoughts until the age of at least 12.

Makes sense to me considering how much I idolized a lot about my parents when I was young, they just seemed so smart and knew so much.
Now I can see them for the idiots they are XD But back then I know I would go along with just about anything they told me, despite the fact my parents are very critical/objective thinkers and taught me to be the same.
