1) American football is rugby with more pads more time to rest and more players (since they seem incapable of learning to multi task)

It's not like it was changed in spite of you, and it's changed enough that there shouldn't be meaningless competition on who's sport is better. I'll argue with you all day on calling soccer "soccer", but I really hold no ill will against rugby.
