yes comparing games by realism is kinda gay. however, in bf3 u can actually drive shit. also, u rarely get niggas running at your ass with sniper rifles. plus the guns are actually real.

No game is realistic. no matter what, you will always be able to find something that is impossible in real life. Invisible walls, map boundaries, and loads of little things like not getting tired or hungry, not getting a limp or slow death from being shot in certain areas. And that's what's great about games, the fact that they're unrealistic. We're supposed to temporary escape the real world when playing them. Realism isn't what makes a great game, it's the enjoyability.

Obviously a game isn't going to be 100% realistic, it's just that as shooters go, Battlefield is quite realistic for the mainstream gamer to enjoy. And yes to all of you Arma 2 fans, it is a very realistic game too but I have never tried it to be honest. I really think that when people are making this comparison they are using Call of Duty as the game that they compare it to. Of course Call of Duty isn't realistic, it's not supposed to be. Instead of people appreciating games for what they are, people seem to criticize for what they want them to be. Honestly Call of Duty isn't a bad game, it's just not my preference. I would much rather play some TF2 and BF3, but that's just me. Just play the games you like instead of arguing over which one is better. It's a fight that no one wins.
