TO ANYONE READING THIS THREAD:
I'd like you to watch this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjsgoXvnStY
It explains the fourth dimension as time, and also explains all dimension above it, up to the 11th.
THIS IS NOT WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE CONTENT!!!
The content describes the fourth dimension of space.

A dimension is anything that can be measured.
What the content describes is a cube in the fourth dimension of space.
If you imagine dimension number 0.
This would be something which cannot be measured; a point. (I know you can measure x and y values, but we imaging nothing else to compare it's position to.
If we copy that dot and paste it, say 1 meter, besides it, and draw a line between them, we get the first dimension; length.
If we copy/paste that line 1 meter to it's side, we get a square and the second dimension; width.
If we copy/paste that square 1 meter upwards, we get a cube; the third dimension.
Now, if we imagine that we copy/paste that cube 1 meter to an imaginary direction, and connect all points of the cube (where lines meet) to all points of this new cube, with all lines being equal length, we create something that cannot possibly exist in the third dimension of space. However, we can recreate this fourth dimension on our computer. And using a 4D projection program we can create the "shadow" of the fourth dimensional cube. (This is the .gif above, in the content)
We can compare it to holding up a straw-cube under a light, to create a shadow on a board. Although it, to us, looks like a cube, it would look like random lines to anything observing it in only two dimensions, just like this looks like random lines to us. But if we were to rotate our straw-cube, the lines of the shadow would change length. This would be unexplainable by someone who have lived all their life in the second dimension, just like we couldn't explain why the straws of our 4D straw-cube seemingly, but not actually, changes length.

That comment was so dumb I don't even know where to begin, but I guess I'll try to educate you:
1. This is a hypothesized four-dimensional shape. It's a mathematical concept, and completely unrelated to physics. The fact that you're too dumb to understand that doesn't invalidate it's correctness
2. In our current space-time model, time is indeed the fourth dimension, this does not mean it's not a special dimension. The "flow" of time is related to our perception of the universe moving from a high entropy state to a low entropy state
3. This is, in fact, a 2 dimensional representation of a 3-dimensional shadow of a rotating four dimensional hypercube or "tesseract" It is not four dimensional because humans cannot comprehend four dimensions
TL;DR don't talk shit if you don't know shit

The fourth dimension is usually considered time. Easier to explain: a line in time.
The further you travel up the line, the further into time you go. The further down the line you go, the further back in time you go.
The fifth dimension is, comparable to the first three dimension of space, a flat area of time, or a branch off the time-line. It is an alternate way to live your life. Therefore, if you can travel in the fourth dimension, you can relive your life. If you can travel in the fifth dimension, you can relive alternate versions of your life. Moving into the sixth dimension; it's a direct tunnel between time-lines. Whereas the fifth dimension only allows you to live alternate lives if you travel back in time, change something, and then move forth in time again, thus experiencing a different you, the sixth dimension allows you to do this directly. No traveling back and forth. Just go straight there.
So the sixth dimension can be considered to be: Every possibly way you could possibly have existed, or any possible way everything could ever have existed. Thus this is infinite. So what comes after six? Another infinite. An alternate universe to travel to, where the laws of physics are different. So anything above the SIXTH dimension is alternate universes.
A very good video that explains it: www . youtube . com/watch?v=XjsgoXvnStY
