3. Watch a video and notice how many frames they are using

FPS has nothing to do with the speed of video. That gif would be the same speed if it had 30 fps or 30000 fps, it would just be more jumpy. The video was probably recorded at an extremely high FPS - just for the sake of argument ill say 10000fps. The video has been slowed down to a point where youre only seeing 100fps.

He's actually right... If you have low frames per second that means more time between each frame whereas if you have a really high frames per second that means less time between frames.
