What makes these people think that their local government will actually listen and follow through with something as worthless as an online petition. People who think they're being activists by clicking their mouse on a website people only ever go to when they're butt hurt and want to do something about an issue only from the comfort of their computer chair are spoiled, lazy, delusional, idiots - online petitions have extremely low success rates. Then in the impossible event that it would actually happen, what makes them think that their state would survive on it's own with the same luxuries that America has now? Things would end up fucking worse! Fucking idiots man, how do they work? I can't even...

A lot of the petitions are signed in person. People go to major cities, colleges, libraries, etc. to get signatures.
