I haven't found any genuinely scary games in awhile. I've played Amnesia, Fear, both Dead Space games, all the Silent Hills, all the Resident Evil games, Eternal Darkness, Fatal Frame, both Biopshocks and a bunch of others and they aren't that scary to me. Other than the occasional "What the **** ". The game that got me even the tiniest bit scared was Silent Hill Homecoming and that was only for about an hour while I was in the Hotel and after that it was nothing (Fun game though 8/10 in my opinion). Anyone have any suggestions?
Maybe you're just bad at getting into them, I mean when I play horror games I play under the impression that I SHOULD DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO NOT DIE! THERE IS NO RESPAWN, IF I DIE THAT'S ******* IT, THIS IS MY ONE CHANCE AT LIFE MAN!!! On the other hand I rather dislike most horror games because of how into them I get. >:|
I know what you mean but when I play horror games I generally get drunk beforehand so its always the same " **** it grab the **** I need and get the **** out". Plus its not hard to know when they are gonna try to cheap shot you with a scare and I anticipate it very well about 90% of the time.
It just got so bland to me. I rented DS2 and beat it the same night. Maybe its because I can kind of anticipate where they will come from and know to slice corners (Walk around them slowly with your weapon drawn). It was about 3 weeks ago but if I remember correctly I beat that in just under 8 hours on zealot.
Yay, Dead Space is kind of a hit or miss game. People I know that have played it either say, "It's the scariest ******* game on the planet." or, "It's just so boring and repetitive."
Exactly. If its a shooter game no matter what genre I play it with military rules. Conserve all ammo, don't go anywhere without having a way out, keep my weapon drawn as much as possible (With the use of a modded controller or if you're cheap a rubber band) and never go for vanity weapons like big booms or machine guns, always use the single shot weaponry with high accuracy and power. Kind of ruins the scariness when half your family is military and teaches you this **** lol.
