It's hard because you die easily and it's easy to get swarmed by enemies.

Can you make one that says "En garde" "Come here little man!"

I didn't actually create it. It was posted a long time ago in the comments of another post. And I don't know how to create gifs.

Personally I prefer lightsabers.

The average European sword is useless compared to the average katana. A large amount of European swords were simply quickly made crap compared to a katana which took weeks and were extensively tested before the smith would let go of it. However a master crafted European sword IE: a knight/nobleman's gaurd would be almost on the same level but still not as effective because unless its a killage because both the katana and killage have a weighted end which allows them to easily cut through enemies.

There is no best sword. Each sword is suited to the environment it developed in. In Europe they had loads of iron, so they could make iron armor and so a katana would be much less useful. In japan they had very bad iron so it had to be refined over and over, so they ended up with light swords that could cut through bamboo and leather. In Rome they used their swords as a mass produced weapon, so it had to be short and easily used with a shield. If a centurion used a katana or claymore, the whole unit would be screwed over. If a knight used a gladius or katana, they wouldn't be able to utilize their strength. If a samurai used a claymore or gladius, they'd either not have enough reach or would be too slow. Each sword is good in its own combat.

Really depends on how they are crafted. I like both in each their ways.

i like short blades like spartan short swords and machetes because they are easy to handle with little experience and very versatile

We are not allowed to have weapons like this where I come from. We gotta get a permit and that's goddamn hard. Wish I could try one though, always been a fan of swords.
