It really depends on the gauge, how often you shoot, where you set the butt and how much you can lift. I've seen men easily shoot a 12-gauge without a flinch.

I'm no gun expert, however.

Actually, I am pretty familiar with firearms. I served for ten years in the Army, with three years in a combat zone. I own 23 different firearms and last Friday, I shot one hundred and fifty 12 gauge shells from my Winchester 1300. The shotgun in this GIF was shooting a blank shell. I know what I'm talking about.

That's cool, but as I said, I've seen people fire heavy caliber weapons without flinching. You obviously know more than me, but eh. It's the internet, who can prove what?

It's simple physics. When you move one ounce of lead at 1200 feet per second, the gun will move. It doesn't matter how big you are.
