To me he still seemed pretty damn scarred, because Woody Harrelson was capable of conveying the inner turmoil through more subtle measures than a "night-time freakout scene" and "I'm haunted by my past speech". e.g. the scene where he watches kids play with a toy sword.

As for the drinking, in the movie they seemed to switch that from just a symptom of self-hatred to a combination of that and seeing every. single. one of his trainees fie horribly. He quit once it became clear that Katniss/Peeta might stand a chance, which makes sense if alcohol was his main medication for watching them die.

He was also a dick to Katniss in the books, in the movie he was mean for about two seconds and then went to doting on her.

I'm kinda a Woody Harrelson fag, so... yeah... I still liked him in it...

No, in The Thing's scene with the stomach thing, the guy's stomach opened up and had teeth and bit the guy's arms off. Alien is the movie with Face-Huggers that lay eggs in your stomach and the babies burst out, and that also has the same face as the Xenomorphs.
