Oh squiggly line in my eye fluid. I see you lurking there on the peripheral of my vision.

But when I try to look at you, you scurry away.

Are you shy, squiggly line?

Why only when I ignore you, do you return to the center of my eye?

Oh, squiggly line, it's alright, you are forgiven.

it is called floaters.

It is common through many people. It is caused when the film of you retina breaks apart and floats in your vitreous humor. Then, i cast shadows back onto your retina, therefor giving the effect.

The cause for them is the shrinkage of the vitreous humour: this gel-like substance consists of 99% water and 1% solid elements. The solid portion consists of a network of collagen and hyaluronic acid, with the latter retaining water molecules. Depolymerization of this network makes the hyaluronic acid release its trapped water, thereby liquefying the gel. The collagen breaks down into fibrils, which ultimately are the floaters that plague the patient. Floaters caused in this way tend to be few in number and of a linear form. This is not the only cause, but basically any damage to the eye can cause floaters.

EXPLANATION: The "floaters" are actually the remnants of the hyaloid artery which heeled your eyes develop while you where in the womb. Once they are no longer needed, the shrivel up and break into pieces. since they have nowhere to go, they float around in your eyes. Everybody has them, some people just haven't noticed them or don't know how to see them. They will remain in your eyes and you will see them for the rest of your lives.

Don't believe me? Google it!
