Little did the shark know, the horse had an affair with a narwhal.

Because schools don't like imagination.
They were snipping this in the bud before it developed into a personality.

For a fourth grader, that's pretty damn deep.

When I was in the 3rd grade I wrote a story about a stapler and a paper in an abusive relationship. The stapler would repetitively staple the paper, and the paper would hit the stapler with the staples.
Which is kind of like you biting someone, your teeth coming out, and then the other person uses your teeth to beat you up.
My teacher contacted the school's psychologist.

if the teacher called this child's parents to tell them anything other than "your child has a gift for writing, and you're bad parents if you don't at least pursue that a little" then the teacher isn't doing their job right

In 5th grade we were asked to write a story about how this got that I forgot the term but like a fictional story of why cats can see in the dark or why butterflies have wings worta thing I wrote about why the Bobcat has no tail. Basically, the Bobcat was a sassy bitch with the most luxurious tail to ever exist. Well, the other animals got tired of Bobcat's boasting so they tricked her into drinking of a secret oasis that they said would make her tail even more beautiful. Well, she took one sip and the spirit of the pond came up and pulled Bobcat's tail into the water, only leaving a stump. My teacher loved it so much it was published in the school newspaper.

In Primary school i was told to write a story.. i wrote a story about knights and dragons..the teacher read it (About 3 pages) told me it was too dark and told me go back and write it again in a more 'positive' light. I think i even drew pictures for it in pencil? i can't remember.

When I was little I used to think that morbid stuff is really ******* cool I wasn't a psycho that's just what Steven Seagal movies did to me and we got our final project of 4th grade to write a book. So I wrote a detective-horror type of book where a girl murdered her father with a pillow, her mom was somehow killed by a mill and her brother fell out of a tree when a boar was trying to stab him.
The books were published then and put on display for other kids and parents to read. And this is how I became famous in my elementary school

Thats sounds similar to a story I made when I was 8. I made a story of a boyfriend (called Eric) and girlfriend (I think he name was Marion?), but then one of the friends of Marion fell in love with Eric and got jealous of Marion, so she pushed Marion into a dangerous river. But Eric got mad and didn't want to live without her, so he jumped after her. They both died, but they stayed together forever in heaven.

My mom got a bit scared when she read it...

When I was in middle school shortly before moving to a different city I didn't take this short story assignment seriously in English class. So I wrote it about a self aware pill named Phil whose family was swallowed. Then basically grief struck he decided to end it all so he could join his family and was swallowed as well. Then the teacher read it to the class when I was home, sick. I was kinda surprised they didn't call my parents then.

Sounds just about exactly the same as 90% of Greek/Roman myths, actually.
