Male, 17, 6'3", 240 pounds

Does anyone have a good workout routine or diet that works for them? I'm trying to get under 200 pounds. Also, any tips on how to stay motivated would be helpful.

I went from being 270 to 215 from just burning out more than I ate, I still ate the same foods, I just worked out for 2 hours every day pushing myself to the limits. You want motivation? Imagine how you look when you finally get into the shape you want. I know this may sound corny, but I literally took a picture of myself after every workout . It helped me not only keep a basic progress of how I was shaping out but ( At least kept me on track seeing the fat disappear).

To lose weight run, Run like there's no tomorrow. Turn into forrest gump, Don't do weights as it'll do the opposite, Working out muscles=weight gain, running = losing weight/muscles. You don't have to run the whole time, Run a quarter of a mile then walk the next so on so fourth or do a distance that you're comfortable with. In the end its all worth it. While you run if you see that you are not making the distance you want just block it out, Keep going even if you fall on your face you are still moving foward. (Actually happened to me four times, almost broke my nose the second time I fell)

Everything comes from the mind, and Pain is weakness leaving the body. Stay motivated, relaxed and make body fat your bitch.

Actually it's a good idea to work out as well, more muscle = higher metabolism.

It really depends on what works for you. For example, my diet is extremely strict and there is only one other person I know who would bother eating the same food as me- and that's my brother. If I had to make a recommendation it would be to not eat sweets/desserts. This includes sugary drinks, they really aren't necessary in the slightest. I could say a lot more but it would depend on what you think you are capable.

As for working out, motivation begins with a routine. Starting to work out is ALWAYS difficult. People often don't "feel" like going, or they make up tons of excuses. What you need to do is just go to the fucking gym and do the work. It's not easy, and that's the most rewarding part of it. Once you have a schedule and have been consistent for a few weeks, you no longer have to force yourself to go. At that point you hate it when you don't work out.

Look up basic workouts based on what you are looking to achieve. Find one, write it down. Stick to it. Excuses are for weak people.
