I've never cried listening to a song, until today. I mean actual tears down my eyes... that was intense

my dad was kind of the same way but we spent time together after work most days. Now he owns his own business and i'm his only employee. This song really gets him because my grandfather was always busy and never got to spend time with him until me and my dad both spent as much time as possible after he retired. He retired in 2011 a month before his wife died (on thanksgiving day), then we spent the rest of 2012 doing things. he left to live in florida in february and was there 2 weeks before developing leukemia and passing a few months later. A few years ago. my dad told me once after hearing this song that the main reason he spends as much time with me and my brother as possible is because of my grandfather and the childhood similarities to the song.

I remember my teacher playing this my freshman year of highschool. I've never forgotten it since and it really made me appreciate my dad and how despite our differences, we love each other and have had great times together. Thanks for the feel

I've heard this song so many times, and I never really paid attention to the lyrics until now. That hit me hard.

So here I am, remembering my Dad playing this song for me when I was little and me saying "i'll always have time for my Dad".

Last time I had a real conversation with My father was 3 years ago.

Damn it omnipotentsoap this song hit me hard.

Talk to him, man. When the day comes that you no longer have the chance, you don't want it to come with any regrets.

Also no matter what may have come between you, it's worth giving it your all to make it better.
