Gee OP, thanks, it's been like two days since I've seen this on frontpage, I was afraid I would never see it again

I did this with my first dog. I found the poor guy when he was only a few weeks old, cold and skinny on the streets. He had a million different kinds of **** in him, but despite all the odds, he lived. I had him for another two years before my mom made me give him away. To this day, he was the best friend I ever had

Pic related, it's him a few weeks after I found him

One of our dogs used to live on the streets until we found him wandering in and out of my dad's ex girlfriend's flower shop. He didn't have a collar or tags and was very skinny and covered in tar, he looked like a real mess. It took us awhile to remove the tar and his flea infestation but now he is living the good life.

What i dont get is why some of these shelters take them in let them live a few weeks then put them down. If they have a better chance outside why not do that?
I could be missing the point here so if I am, someone point it out.

It's amazing to see how they start to look less like a walking corpse and more like an actual living thing.
