We won't all ever be equal. That's not the point. It's about equal opportunity. Everybody deserves the freedom to do what they want with their life without being discriminated against based on predetermined stereotypes or prejudices. We can support individuality without undermining anyone's human rights, and vice versa.

*sigh* gonna take some heat on this one...

If it's about equal opportunity, why does the LGBT community act like they're channeling the spirit of the Civil Rights Movement from the 70s when no homosexual has ever had his rights denied to him under the Constitution? Why are they in the right to petition for a form of marriage unique to their minority group?

They can't get married, many can't adopt kids, they couldn't openly serve in the military until very recently, and until the recent discrimination bill was passed they had no workplace security if an employer decided to fire or harass them for their sexual orientation. Not to mention some of the grotesque hate crimes committed against gays.

They can't get married, they are discriminated in many other ways. Hate crimes are committed upon them often, to appalling levels. They are treated like filth among certain people. Religions point to them as vile, something that is bad enough to be killed for.
