Being equal doesn't mean you can't be different. Being equal means you won't be treated better or worse just for being different.
Being equal doesn't mean you are as good as anyone in any skill. Being equal means that those who have the skill should be able to get the job, in spite of his/her sexual orientation, skin colour, ethnicity etc.
Being equal is the freedom to be whatever you want/can, not being something because someone else wants to be something they want.

We can never be truly equal, nor can society be ever perfect, but we can always try to make this world a better place for the outcasts and oppressed.

JAYSUS! I didn't believe my comment was gonna get that much publicity.

As for the people who say that some votes should have a greater impact in democratic elections than others, I ask you this: How are you going to decide whose vote should be stronger? Give the power to the people who have greater education? The people with higher IQ? The people with high status?
No one can tell by looking at any traits in any human what consequences their decisions may have. High IQ doesn't mean you know how to act in making a real life decision. When voting, we can only hope that the result of making our choice will be for the greater good.
True, there are "dumb" people choosing from options they can hardly understand, but where are you going to draw the line?
NO! YOU can't draw a line!

Why should YOUR voice be better?!! Is it because YOU think you're right?!

    Equality is stupid.
Some people are better at a job, they should get it.
It's ridiculous to give the same odds of hiring a sociopathic, necrophiliac, rapist as a paramedic as a fit, healthy doctor with qualifications.
Some people are lower, some people are higher. Deal with it.

No, you shouldn't give the job to a person who clearly has mental problems and may prove to be a safety risk for the work place. Being a necrophiliac is as much a mental problem as being a homosexual is. You don't see homosexual banging every man (or a woman if you're a lesbian) they see on the streets, so why would a mentally healthy necrophiliac do it to every corpse they see?
Rapists, on the other hand, can't control their desires and danger for a work place with potential victims.

On the top of all, I never said that everybody should get the job. As a matter of fact I said the exact opposite. Those who have the needed skills and traits should get the job, in spite of the traits they have that have nothing to do with the job, like skin colour, ethnicity etc.

Yeah, intelligence and capabilities vary in different people, putting people in slots is the exact opposite of making the world an equal place. As people change all the time, those points are bound to change with them, thus we cannot just categorize people based on what we have tested in the past events.

How would you choose who's votes should have greater impact on the results? Yes, people make bad decisions, but it isn't directly proportional to the amount of education one has had. Where do you draw the line between dumb and smart people? You don't.
Maybe the rank of one's vote should be measured by their social values? Would you give more weight to someone's vote who value market economy over ecological sustainability or the person with opposite values? To one who values different things than the other, the latter's decisions may seem dumb, when in fact both are probably doing their best to choose the best alternative for their own values.

What you said is true, but consider the following:

    "Something irrelevant."

Morgan Freeman can always say it better

Being equal doesn't mean you can't be different. Being equal means you won't be treated better or worse just for being different.
Being equal doesn't mean you are as good as anyone in any skill. Being equal means that those who have the skill should be able to get the job, in spite of his/her sexual orientation, skin colour, ethnicity etc.
Being equal is the freedom to be whatever you want/can, not being something because someone else wants to be something they want.

We can never be truly equal, nor can society be ever perfect, but we can always try to make this world a better place for the outcasts and oppressed.
