Just because one person pulled it off doesn't mean another person can.

I'd still pay 2 times the amount of money for theater tickets to see Willam Dafoe play the joker in Batman VS Superman.

I'm not going to judge the film from the actors they chose, because it's surprising what a good actor can bring to a role.

But I think they're bringing too many people into the film to get any decent character development on any of them, because they'd be too busy giving them all screen time like in The Expendables. So far they've got Lex, Metallo, Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, they're also rumouring the Flash might be in it too. In the Superman sequel, so Superman's development is going to be a side story at best, in favour for the prequal to a Justice League film.

Okay, I'm prepared for your hatred.. But. Honestly? I think Heath was a horrible Joker, and everyone is still worked up over his death and can't see him in a bad light... He was predictable and frankly I think they would have been better off cutting that movie out of the franchise.

He's been dead for six years. I never even heard of him before the Dark Knight came out. If any, I'd say the third movie was the most disappointing; no one seemed to care anymore. The second movie was, in my opinion, the best of the trilogy and it's largely due to the part that Ledger played. I've joked that Ledger wasn't acting, he was possessed mind, body and soul by the Joker.

Jesse Eisenberg is playing a young version ofLex Luthor in a film in which Lex Luthor is rumored not to be the main villain.

My first impression is that Lex Luthor will not be a bad guy at the start of this film, and that one of the characters batman or superman will turn to Lex for help to defeat the other.

Ledger was a good actor and studied for months to work on the role.

Jessie was god awful in Now You See Me and even in the Social Network he wasn't the best actor.

Ledger was a rare case and it was a major **** up that they didn't get Cranson for the role. Despite him saying how he wanted the part

I don't think Jesse will do bad in the role, but i do feel that an older actor would be better.

I just can't believe they're making this movie so soon. Nolan, by most standards, knocked it out of the park with the Dark Knight trilogy, and Man of Steel was pretty good IMO. Or at least it was better than that last excuse for a superman movie. Making this is just jumping onboard the superhero bandwagon, and I doubt they have any kind of novel vision for it. The cinematography will be great, with all the money that will get thrown in it, but I'm expecting sub-par writing and acting at best.
Heath Ledger might not have been the most expected choice for the role, but he was one character in a pretty stellar cast. That's not what this case is

It totally depends on how the part is written IMO.
I was super hyped for Benadict Cumberbatch to play Khan in ST:ID, and sure as **** he acted it well, but it was such a poorly written part (In comparison to original Khan), that the film was essentially ruined for me.

I don't know what the general population of FJ's opinion on this would be, so I'm not sure what reaction i'll get... but I have to say it.

I liked Smallville. I watched it as it aired, all the way to the end. As such, I can really only see Lex Luthor in the way that Michael Rosenbaum portrayed him. I haven't seen many movies with Eisenburg in them Now You See Me and Social Network but from what I've seen, I can't see him playing that kind of role.

I half-agree with this.
Yes, people should be more open mindeded about casting. The guy from Ten Things I Hate about you surprisingly made an amazing joker.

But on the other hand, that was a little more possible considering he was the only odd man out. Every other casting choice (batman, gordon, two-face, rachael, etc.) made perfect sense.

This batman movie is made up of entirely oddballs.
1) Ben Affleck as Batman
2) Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman
3) Jesse Eisenburg as Lex Luthor
4) *Possibly* Dwayne Johnson as the Green Lantern.

Heath ledge worked because he was only 1 surprise. I feel like this is a little too risky. Each one of them has to knock it out of the park. Worse yet, they all have to compete with eachother for limited screen time, so their character building will be almost not existant.
