you should be thinking more about the fact that you made her birthday that much brighter. If i was in her situation, i would have thought more about who showed up then who didnt......Take this funny picture as well

When my grandma was dying of cancer we had her in hospice care at our house.
\At the time i was taking piano lessons, and she asked that I practice in her room.
Take note, she was very advanced into her illness, so she was rarely aware of the world around her, and would rarely talk.
One day, when I was practicing she shouted "shut off that racket"
I left the room crying, and refused to play in her room again, for fear she'd do it again
The fact that I didn't play for her again is one of my biggest regrets in life

That reminds me of all the depressing times with my grandparents.

I've got an uncle that is stuck in some old folks home or something of the likes, people barely see him and his sisters act like it's a chore to visit him. Thing is, he's a complete cunt that deserves it for what he has put his family for. Good old folks that end their lives lonely and forgotten is tragic, like seeing some old mate walking his dog and imagining that the dog is his only companion and what would happen if the dog died.
