How realistic would it be to move out at the age of 16 in the UK?
(May or may not be sharing a residence with friends.)

I wouldn't recommend it, my best friend moved out at 17 and got a shitload of trouble for it. You wont get paid full wages in any job you go to (think minimum wage for 16 years olds is £3.68) and you wont get much help from the government at all, especially if you voluntarily move out. Being 16 or 17 is a loophole in the UK for governemnt assistance, because your too old to be classed as a child but too young to be classed as an adult. At least wait till your 18 if your desperate, and use those extra two years to save up for all the stupid household stuff that you forget you need (from the basics of a bed, cooker, fridge, sofa, carpets to the little things like TV licence, water bills, tables, storage and decoration)

Do not do that, seriously. At that age you can't hold down a good job, or pay for a house even if you do. Stick with the fam until you're at LEAST 18. Trust me, it's better having your shit paid for.
