wandless magic can be done by anyone, but it is only weak magic, so you cant lift objects or cast bolts of magic at people,

but you can stir a teaspoon

a brief history of time is not about quantum physics. it's basically a book on philosophy by a scientist, and is exactly what you would expect. questions being answered with science thrown in.

Read the Eragon books Magic and science are tied
This made me giggle that people are just now coming to that concision in a movie

Not the ******* Hollywood movie That sucked The life out of the books

all wizards and witches can do magic without a wand. the wand is an amplifier. harry made glass disappear and reappear when he was 10 years old. this is just about average.

Yeah wandless magic isn't impossible they even mention it in the book it's just the wand makes it a lot easier to cast spells that are harder for you as it works as a focus for the magic.

But a lot of wizards do wandless magic.

Harry causes the glass to disappear and then come back
Lily created a protection spell out of love
The sword of gryffindor appears in the sorting hat

Presumably, there would have been a time of wizards before wands were around, meaning that wandless magic would just be a forgotten craft

That, or it's possible that like Hagrid, his wand was broken and he wasn't allowed to keep it, so he hid it, within himself, making himself a wand

Really made me think. I like it when something does that even if the subject talked about is glanced over.

wandless magic isn't that special. Snape even does it when countering the spell in the first book. Think about it like this: you could throw a rock, or use a catapult
that is what a wand does.

And no one mentions that he's Ian Brown from The Stone Roses?

Wandless magic isn't special, it can be done by everyone. E.g. When Snape was counteracting that other guys spell when Harry was flying on his broom and **** .
User avatar #11 - TimBisley (12/28/2013) [-]
