They can then use their friends chargers, or even use the parent's chargers.

No children need cell phones at around 10-14. They need it for emergencies. The trick is you gotta make them feel like they earned it. If you can't teach your kids to respect things like people and expensive Items then you don't need to have kids.
When I was 11 my sisters ex boyfriend brain washed her in to running away with him. Leaving me home alone. Guess what I had A ******* CELL PHONE MY PARENTS GAVE ME!

i'm not going to take my kid's valuable possessions, I don't want them to grow up obsessed with taking things away from me. my parents doing this did not improve me as a person, it made me ask myself how I could punish them for punishing me. "how can I discourage the bad behavior of this person? what could I take from this person to make them feel the way I feel, so that they fear stepping out of line with me?" I don't want my child to feel that way about me.

I would take all my stuff out of that house and stay with friends for awhile. this sounds like a systematic thing.

Jokes on you dumbasses when all they have to do is ask their friends to borrow theirs. Plus im pretty sure it will be solar powered or something similar by then.
