I think being a brony means the same as being a Narutard, Whovian, weeaboo, etc.:
You show your love and devotion to the show's franchise, regardless of your label. Some take it to a level where they go, "Hey, I'm this; you can take it or leave it."
Some stay quiet and reserved about it. Some are open about it, but don't talk about it. And some are, "It's this or nothing". I've learned to accept that every fandom has something unique about. Here are examples of my own fandoms.
Naruto: having a nindo, a code you live by.
Doctor Who: thinking outside the box and discovering new things.
My Little Pony: showing love and appreciation.
That is how I view them. Not every fandom follows what others label it as, as seen on this very site. In short, let people define what being a brony means to them, not what the brony community wants them to mean to others.
Personally, I see being a brony as I would being an average person. I just like something different and out of the ordinary, like all people tend to do. So what if I'm made fun of? I just ignore the harassment and the bullying; it's the internet. I don't take haters very seriously, if at all serious. I like what I like; I shouldn't let friends or society tell me what to like or dislike.
Sorry; your status made me want to write this.

This is the tablet that I'm gonna buy. I wanted to ask you how it looks, since you have one.
But you're not here. So I will hope for the best.
