I must say, even when connected via the headphone input it self, the headphone amp eliminates all of that annoying hiss in the background, it may be a placebo but I think my semi-open akg's might just sound a bit better on this, if we think of stereo playback and sound stability.
Hold your colour was waiting me home and it just basically erased all the shit in my mind, besides, everything went better than expected at work as well (getting provision aside my normal pay), though the shop lost one awesome bau5.

Pro-ject head box s, I heard the old one stinks and I'm a fan of pro-ject products so I had to get the new one to try it out, certainly better than the old one.

So I take it that amp has great insulation eh?
The open-air one I have works great, but without any insulation from emi I can hear a text message 5 seconds before my phone even receives. Gotta get a steel box for it or something.
Take it you have all of Pendulum's albums on cd now?

For me, there's two primary reasons for buying a cd:
(1) The quality, self-explanatory
(2) The tangibility, being able to attach sentiment to physical media.
Suppose you're offered an album in flac for digital download at the same price said album is on cd. Which one would you go for?
Even though I'd ultimately be ripping it anyway, having the physical media still means something.
Same with games and movies too.

Cds really win dude...
I just, less than a minute ago actually realized that daft Punk's "Musique" CD has "Forget about the world, which is not on said album in any online store.
The best song daft punk ever made, well, a remix, but still. The only thing I'm lacking is the encore from "Alive 2007" which is on the deluxe version only, which wasn't really available.
The happiness is dripping trough my pants right now.

Console games, yes. Especially infuriating for Armored Core 4 where every other update would change the the specs on the parts of your mech.
Oh, you just finally finished making your perfect mech for your fighting-style? Well that's too bad, because this update's gonna fuck everything up so feel free to spend another five hours building your perfect mech again.
Modern pc gaming has been so over simplified in recent years. The only reason consoles got popular was because pc gaming was such a royal pain in the ass it was a nice relief to buy a device that would just 'work'.
If updates mean I can play AAA games flawlessly on pc, then I would gladly take the good with the bad.

I need help.
I don't understand this.
Here is the problem. f(x) = x^2, x < and = 1
= 2x , x > 1
Find f'(x) for x<1 and f'(x) for x>1
I don't understand this.
Here is the problem. f(x) = x^2, x < and = 1
= 2x , x > 1
Find f'(x) for x<1 and f'(x) for x>1
We can derive each part of the function individually, treating them as separate functions.
for polynomial functions, the rule for deriving is as follows:
if f(x) = x^n, then f'(x) = n*x^( n-1 )
so for the first part, where x is less than or equal to 1, we have
f1(x) = x^2 --> f1'(x) = 2x
for the second part, where x is greater than 1, we have
f2(x) = 2x = 2x^1 --> f1'(x) = 2
therefore, the derivative is f'(x) = 2x for x ≤ 1 and f'(x) = 2 for all x >1
I'm not sure if this would be what your instructor is looking for though.

Whoever writes your problems describes them terribly.
for this, it might help to use a graph to assist your train of though.
here we have f'(x) plotted, which states that when x is less than or equal to 1, then f'(x)=2x and if x is greater than 1, then f'(x)=2.
The key to this problem is that they're asking for "right-hand" and "left-hand" limits.
The right-hand limit is the limit as the variable approaches a value from the positive direction (eg you're right hand).
The left-hand limit is the limit as the variable approaches the a value from the negative direction.
Pro-tip: if the RHL and the LHL are not equal for some value, then the limit does not exist for that value.
So to the problem.
As x approaches 1 from the negative (left) direction (below, I presume), the limit equals 2.
As x approaches 1 from the positive (right) direction (above, I presume) the limit equals 2.
Since these limits both equal two for x approaches 1 from either direction, the limit exists (I think, take that with a grain of salt)
Be careful. When you're given problems to analyze graphs, a function is never differentiable at "sharp points."
We've proven that the limit exists for lim x-->1 f'(x)=2, but normally f'(1) does not exist.
Hope this helps.

Actually, on second thought, I wonder if character animation as getting much easier since more and more software tools incorporate motion tracking nowadays.
Blender now has motion tracking (though I have no idea how to use it), some people have done some pretty cool things with it.
Look at the special features portion of any game nowadays and you'll find scenes of an actor with a green screen and black suit performing animations.
That being said, I'd still have trouble animating even Steve from minecraft.

That's why I worked behind the scenes and not deal with illegitimate rage.
If I want bread, I must pay a baker for his product. If I want to learn how to bake bread, I must now pay him to teach me how to bake for the time he isn't producing goods as well as the fact that I will no longer need to buy bread from him.
If he freely taught anyone who asked how to bake he'd be out business and on the streets.
Any rage directed at him for not teaching his trade is entirely uncalled for.
Occasionally I would deal with someone like this. They said they would just ask someone else in the IT department because I was the asshole only to find out the people IT workers had exactly the same mind set.
Specifically, my favorite response to these kind of people would be:
"Teaching you how to do my job would cost me my job."

Do the laptops you sell come with any documentation on how to use the installed os?
If not, why not?
I suppose if their's no documentation to allow your customers to use the product themselves, then you have a duty to ensure they know how to get the user experience that's being advertised by teaching them how to computer.
Often times we'd get people trying to hook up a printer or something and wouldn't know how to install the drivers/software/cartridge/etc.
We would ask them "have you tried reading the user-guide?"
Then they would get angry at us as if it was our fault the user-guide was the very first thing they tossed when they opened their product.

And a warranty is only as good as the company that supports it.
For example, just recently OCZ's stock nose-dived. By the looks of it, they're likely to go out of business in the next couple of months or so. People are freaking out because their Revo-drives (which are known to fail) came with a nice five year warranty that won't be redeemable if the company goes under.
It's good that you're studying economics; as arrogant as this may sound, economics the most important discipline.

I'll definitely admit, it's a cool sound (sounds similar to some of Juno Reactor's work, years before JR was on the map), but I fail to see makes it so special other than choice of equipment.
Would a symphony consisting of an orchestra using Stratovarius instruments sound better than an orchestra using modern ones? It's possible, but I wouldn't pay 300+$ for a ticket to see said symphony if the same/similar production using modern instruments was only 30$ a ticket.
I find it interesting; however, how the technology used to produce this music depreciates in value over time, but the music itself does not.
Definitely cutting edge for its time.

Kinda like this painting, painted by Monet in 1872. Nothing special by today's standards; you see this kind of art all the time, but it was revolutionary for it's time period because no one ever tried anything like it before.

Iyr logic concerning music piracy:
(1) If there exists some set of music you would otherwise purchase, but does not exist on the market available for purchase to the end user by publisher, then piracy, being the only alternative, is an acceptable method to consume the desired music in question.
Notable example; Hybrid's "Scores"

If Vinyl is able to push up to 192KHz naturally, why is RIAA eq limited to 20Hz-20KHz?
One of vinyl's most prominent advantages of CD is that it can push a full, natural frequency range beyond that of CD.
I know 20Hz-20KHz is supposedly the limit of human hearing, but some information beyond that range can be picked up and interpreted by the brain in one way or another (like being able to physically feel bass, for instance)

here, take this:
goo.gl/
at 2000€, you'd almost be better off researching and building your own preamp.
I'm beginning to suspect the audio hardware industry is very much similar to the IT industry in that they'll charge you up the ass for premium equipment when you could build your own that's just as good if not better, at a fraction of the cost. (cough, Mac, cough Alienware)
The cost of ignorance be a cruel mistress. I've seen dacs go for 1000+USD that are only barely on par with an Asus essence one which is only 600USD. Being that Asus is known for delivering fairly good quality at reasonable prices (since they manufacture all of their components in-house), I'm curious to see what kind of quality a home-built dac can deliver for before things get too expensive.
Maybe the same could be said of preamps. It would be an interesting venture.

Being that Asus is known for delivering fairly good quality at reasonable prices (since they manufacture all of their components in-house), I'm curious to see what kind of quality a home-built dac can deliver for before things get too expensive.
Maybe the same could be said of preamps. It would be an interesting venture.

Well there you have it, proof of concept.
Also this:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gqhuGsAQn0
Background and education in digital electronics, check
Free parts from University and Texas instruments, check
Brother who knows how to solder, check
PCB design software, check
Building a high-end market quality dac shouldn't be a problem, might as well give a shot, ought to look into designing amps too.

Yes. I have actually ran rips from EAC against rips from wmp or other software using analyzers (was bored at work one day).
Nothing else sits on par with it.
EAC needs to be calibrated to your optical drive though and there's a good 5-15 minutes of setting up before you can even begin to rip. There's even more setting up to do if you want it to rip to a specific format like flac or mp3 instead of just wav.
EAC isn't called "Exact audio copy" for no reason.

EAC is also known for being pretty good at getting accurate rips from even old or damaged CDs.
In reality though, the difference between using EAC and really crappy ripping software is about a 10-15% difference in quality at the very most.
The average computer user doesn't even have the hardware to distinguish that difference (I'm sure you do though).

Good to know.
I just hate it how my favourite song on "furious angels" has a crackling noise in my favourite chorus, even though I ripped it straight outta plastic covering and I even antistaticized it and all...

You can be as precautious as you want, but stay realistic.
I've seen over-precautious idiots pay 200+USD for "premium" magnetically shielded / insulated toslink cables with the excuse that they wanted the best audio quality with no interference.
IT'S A FUCKING DIGITAL SIGNAL, YA AIN'T GONNA GET INTERFERENCE, DIPSHIT.

lol, toslinks are all basically the same, but if you have an aux or rca you gotta make sure it's good, 10€ a meter you get the best quality you need.
One reason why I'd love to have the cd player I ordered is that it sports a spdif slot and the pioneer I have doesn't, you don't even want to hear about my schneider "solution"

It's good to shield cables that transmit analog signal that would be susceptible to interference, but HDMI? Toslink? Displayport?
People are paying hundreds for digital cables that will perform exactly the same as a cheap alternative you can get at a computer store.
No, seriously, wtf is this shit?
www.audioquest.com/
Also keep in mind that spdif generally peaks at 20bits where as other digital signal run at 24bits.

One of the unfortunate consequences of building a successful premium brand is the appearance of counterfeit products. AudioQuest is not immune to this problem. While we make every effort to combat counterfeits, we continue to see various products being sold as “AudioQuest” that are NOT genuine. These counterfeits DO NOT meet AudioQuest quality standards and in fact often turn out to be nothing more than common hardware store grade cables hidden beneath an attempt to match our braid patterns and plugs. The persons most hurt by these phony offerings are our potential customers, who in all good faith may proceed feeling that they have stumbled upon a “too-good-to-ignore” deal. Also hurt are those who, while realizing the cables aren’t genuine, hold hope that the cables are at least “close” in quality. Sadly, this is very rarely the case.
Nigga hardware store cable is best cable, pure copper with no unnecessities
