Okay so my girlfriend describes herself as gender fluid because some days she feels very masculine and other days feminine. For example, the times she feels masculine she wears a bind and guy's clothing. She is one of the few people who I truly believe are truly gender fluid. She doesn't announce it to the world, in fact I am the only one that knows she feels this way. The point I'm trying to get at is some people truly do have a different leaning on gender that cannot be described as simply male or female. Trigendered Pyro foxes excluded of course

Your girlfriend is probably a manic bi polar person who also is bi sexual, she probably is so out of touch of understanding her emotions in a healthy way that she clutches at insane straws such as identity. Your gf needs mental help and if you love her at all you'd seek it for her.

The only people who are not getting this is America. And they're spreading their cancer around the world like some instragram whore looking for someone to compliment her new socks while if you're actually giving cristicism you're an inconsidered autismo faggot monster

All these wrong opinions of a word with a very clear definition.

Gender -the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones).

but since we we're "blessed" with such a culturally rich society we have to deal with **** like this, honestly if a paper says anything about gender its always going to be
the biological meaning, so stop with your spectrum of autism.

Well, IMO, it depends on how it affects your life.
I think it's okay to leave people to their fantasies as long as they're not being rude or pushy about it.
Gender/sexual Identity is an important thing to me because it's something I'm kinda working through right now, but then I see all these people who are complaining and making big deals out of pronouns and such, and it bothers me. I think the main reason to concede to people's identities is to make them feel comfortable, but if they're making others unduly uncomfortable, then they don't deserve it.
Another problem is that some people create it as part of a character, I think. People want to be something else as a form of escape, and even if they don't really know the full extent of what they're getting into, they still push it because they want to be different.
My personal golden rule is that if someone's cool with me and my abnormalities, then I'm cool with them and theirs.

So I think that anything of this nature is justified as long as you're not a dick about it. (Just think of it as a nickname.)
Sorry for the long post.

These people that identify as something other than their own biological gender suffer from 'gender dysphoria' en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_dysphoria - a mental illness. It's an irrational feeling that should not be glorified or encouraged. When a (wo)man claims they don't "feel" like a (wo)man I always have to ask what the **** do they mean? Speaking as the proud owner of a Y chromosome, I can't say I "feel" like a man any more than I feel white, or brunette, or 6ft tall. However it's an inescapable fact of my biology that I'm just going to have to deal with and so I identify as a "man" on that basis. But if some Freaky Friday **** went down and I swapped bodies with a woman I'd have no choice but to identify as a woman from then on - even though my psyche, personality and memories are the same.

Sufferers of GID shouldn't be glorified or encouraged - they should seek help. Now while it's not cool to make fun of people with mental illnesses, it's also totally not cool to expect others to call you by different ******** pronouns to accommodate your delusions. If you look like a man and have male genitalia, I'm going to address you as 'he'. If you look like a woman and have female genitalia, I'm going to address you as 'she'. I'm not going to call you something you're not or demean you by addressing you as "they" or "it" or some made up ************ such as "xi" - I'm not going to deny an entire facet of reality just to accommodate your special snowflake feelings - that'd be like a white guy identifying as black, or a blonde identifying as red-haired without so much as dying her hair. While it's true in other cultures & languages they have agendered/gender-neutral pronouns, in English we have 'he' and 'she' when referring to individuals. And I'm not about to abolish the way I understand my language for you special ******* snowflakes.

I've been having a lot of discussions about this lately as one of my co-workers is transitioning from male to female.
As supportive as I am for them, I can not completely accept it in my mind.
Part of me is like 'yeah, go you, find ways to feel comfortable in your own body'.
The other part of me is screaming 'No. You're not female. You have a Y chromosome, making you male. You can not re-write your DNA. You likely have a chemical imbalance in your brain which in my co-workers case might have been caused by his mother being on birth control when she conceived; this isn't a causation, just a correlation atm. there are a fair few studies out there however. and unless you're born with both a penis AND a Vagina, I don't honestly believe you have any choice in the matter.'
That's my personal viewpoint on it. Also have you guys seen the results of a penis inversion? Kinda scary.

I don't believe anyone in transition believes that they are changing their chromosomes and that they will be, officially, purely female or male. The weekly reminders that they are biologically another gender (testosterone or estrogen shots to the ass or thigh, which obviously hurts, and you have to learn to do them on yourself) would help. It's just a matter of making themselves more comfortable in their body, as you said. Imagine you're a woman and looking down at your breasts gave you a sense of dread--what the **** are those doing there? You hate them. You hate your own body for the way it curves and you wish you had something else in between your legs--it's called penis envy. On the other hand, as a male, you would hate that thing dangling there. It reminds you that biologically, you're male, even when you can't relate to males, you're not anything like them except in the similarities of your bodies but you're everything like females and you would go to such lengths as surgery, to that intimidating penis inversion, if it would only just get others to accept the same, that you are female, and view that you in that way even if you all know, it's the elephant in the room, that there remains your chromosomes. But you're happy with your new image. You're happy with people interpreting your sex as the gender you identify with, with finally being recognized as male or female as you have always felt you were.

Gender=Male and Female. That's ******* it.
You're not a special ****** snowflake who's male today female tomorrow and on Thursdays an egg with a penis. **** everyone who says otherwise, you're in need of mental help and should either be sterilized or locked up from the population to reduce the chance of breeding and spreading your *********** .

Sexist and homophobic. I don't need to explain why when it's so obvious.

"gender fluid" individuals hate labels... but are creating more labels and just making life down right confusing....

*mother just delivers baby*
doctor: sorry ma'am, we do not know the gender yet and it's hard to say what sex this child is going to be, wait until this child grows up and finds their own path, one day we may know
mother: what do I name it? how do I dress it? what toys do I buy it?
doctor: call it "thing", clothe it in a paper bag, and let the infant decide what you buy it.

Transexualism exists as a mental illness. But binary transexuals aren't really that crazy. Letting them change sex doesn't hurt anyone and should be acceptable.

The spectrum gender people tend to glorifie mental illness. They think the more the merrier, so they try to acrue as much crazy as they can. These people have problems and can't fit into society on their own. Their problems go well beyond "muh pronouns". As such, we shouldn't be enabling their delusions and instead give them proper psychiatric counseling. Delusional people like this are the ones that leave their family to change sex and behave like a little girl. Not addressing these illnesses is unhealthy for our society.

On my phone so don't feel like logging in. -Rishnock.

THEY ARE BAT **** INSANE AND LITERALLY BELIEV IF THEY THNK SOMETHING IS THAT THING THEN THAT IS THAT THING> THEY BELIEVE THEY CAN LABEL ROCKS MONEY AND APPLES ORANGES BECAUSE THEY ARE THEMSELVES> ******* insane. Aren't that crazy, they are crazy and flagrantly aggressive about it. As a society you should never ever encourage anything but progress, regressive idiocy has no place in this time of humanity.

> defined by body parts
> determined by chromosomes

what if they had a sex change?
I'm assuming that body parts refers to genitalia, so that would cause a contradiction.

not trying to defend pansexual sonic-kin, just wondering.

the question is, why the hell should we care if someone identifies as a genderfuid pyrofox? does it affect us in any way? No. Does it affect the person in question? obviously, else they wouldn't care identifying as such. The thing is that the column on the right is basically true in the sense that gender is a opinion and cannot be factually proven. Doesn't keep it from being extremely silly sometimes. But again, why should we care at all?
#426 to #420 - anon (10 hours ago) [-]
(same poster) Also as you say in the comment, the text should be saying sex instead of gender. I personally would consider the whole picture right if it said sex on the lefthand side and gender at the righthand (although i'm not agreeing with the mode of expression, the rest is fine by my view).

It is as simple as this: people can, if they want to, identify as whatever they want, even if it doesn't make any sense. Why treat people any different at the hand of something that has no impact on outward reality whatsoever? The only value of a gender identity is for the person expressing that identity. if someone identifies as a gender fluid fox kin that said more about the person expressing this opinion (immature and kooky person) than the concept of gender identities. In the same sense that a moronic political conviction said more about that individual than about politics as a thing.

because these people breed, they create children and teach ideals that they want to see thrive inside OUR society, why the hell should we care if Nazi sympathizers were as big a group as these people are right now? Trying to thrive and create more every day? Would you allow it? Would you allow people who fit so poorly to dump a child into this world care for it like they "care" for themselves and teach it all that bull **** ? Is that even fair to the child? omg man. It goes far beyond whether its okay for people to be like this, if they are they are. Its ******* INSANE to tell them its okay and coddle them and tell them to make more.
User avatar #416 - scorcho (11 hours ago) [-]
the answer is: Who cares.
Doesn't affect me. People can think whatever they want, i'm not gonna dictate other people how to think just because of my subjective opinion.
#443 to #416 - anon (10 hours ago) [-]
I will always, I hope people always correct me if im thinking unclearly, illogically and sharting out my facehole loudly about things I clearly don't understand, especially if they pertain to myself. Its like if someone who has hiv goes around shouting "I have sivs therefore I am a simian not a human, so I don't have hiv I have sivs". No that doesn't fly, that is not how this works you ********* . Please die off and never breed so that you can't ******* dirty the genepool more than it already is muddied.
User avatar #447 to #443 - scorcho (10 hours ago) [-]
that is your personal opinion and may not reflect the opinion of others.
#453 to #447 - anon (10 hours ago) [-]
Its also exactly why nobody else needs to know about their ******* insanities. They don't deserve kids, they don't deserve the air they breathe, and most of them are confused attention craving psychotics with issues that certainly need to be addressed. Why would you allow someone to walk around calling shirts - dresses, the sky green, blood - alcohol, whiskey - water, rocks - money. If they legitimately believe these things, not they wish to call these things by these names, rather the legitimately believe that an apple is an orange, they need HELP. They do not fit, and do not belong in society, they are not fit to breed and the need mental help.
User avatar #454 to #453 - scorcho (10 hours ago) [-]
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
#414 - anon (11 hours ago) [-]
The people that label themselves this **** , are ******* psychotic ***** or people who were taught at a young age its okay by someone who should never ever be able to even speak to a child. There are ******* PARENTS who are telling their little kids that im sure they wouldn't trust to cook for them, that they can determine their sexuality. People under the age of 21 don't even have fully developed brains and shouldn't be allowed many things til at least the age of 18. You can't ******* have children having sex change operations man its wrong. Once they are old enough to understand and have experienced their chemicals that drive their hormones crazy and what they want to do with them. Instead of just telling them " **** anything and everything you want"
User avatar #390 - ridivey (12 hours ago) [-]
Technically the dictionary definition of gender is defined by mental state, and sex is defined by physical state, but it doesn't justify people saying they are a different gender then their sex. Thats called gender identity disorder and it is a socially acceptable mental condition.
