If you ask me, masculine/feminine is a spectrum, male/female is a binary
but what the **** do I know, not a lot, trust me

If you wre born with a penis you'r a dude, if not you're a chick.
If you were born with both, you or someone else gets to decide your gender.
#429 to #308 - anon (9 hours ago) [-]
if you were born with both, you're a natural born hermie that probably consumed its male or female twin at during inception and freakly ended up that way.

Let's ask Google!

gen·der
ˈjendər/Submit
noun
1.
the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones).
"traditional concepts of gender"
synonyms: sex
"variables included age, income, and gender"
2.
GRAMMAR
(in languages such as Latin, Greek, Russian, and German) each of the classes (typically masculine, feminine, common, neuter) of nouns and pronouns distinguished by the different inflections that they have and require in words syntactically associated with them. Grammatical gender is only very loosely associated with natural distinctions of sex.

------

Words don't intrinsically mean things. You can mean anything with a word and not be wrong, but you may be being confusing. To avoid confusion I recommend an agreed consensus on what a word means which "define: x-word" google search provides that.

I do not know a single person who identifies as someone else...

I think this all "problem" is internet made and there are literally 10 people in the world who identify as subi-bubbi-genders and you all are devoting too much time on this.

Why not start wasting your life discussing endlessly other meaningless minor problems? Like people who grow nails to play guitar. Let's make that a problem and discuss hours upon hours and be unproductive.

Or rather let's discuss something meaningful? Where at least 20% of the population is involved?
To all my dislike towards gays they have managed to convinve me that there are enough of them for me to care for their problems and needs.
Blacks seem to have a mish-mash of problems that include racism, their problem is interesting to discuss.
States not giving enough finance to military and space exploration is a problem that touches almost all of the civilized world..

why not waste time on those questions?

Because ******* and faggots bring it on themselves with their stereotypical behaviour. If they didn't steal/rape/murder then ******* would be black PEOPLE instead of ****** apes.
And if faggots weren't all flamboyant and in everyone's face than they'd just be gay PEOPLE instead of ************ degenerates.
#432 to #281 - anon (9 hours ago) [-]
ive seen and met these ******* , there was a ******* woman who was white who believed she was black leading a black org in like iowa or some **** . People believe what they want, doesn't make them that thing. There are insane ******* everywhere, the people who flaunt it aren't even the scary ones, the scary ones are the ones who keep it together with an end game or until the just snap.

My opinion? Gender and Sex are exactly the same thing. There are several languages where there is actually only one word for both, german for example.

the difference between gender and sex. i am willing to accept whatever ******** sjw and tumblr creates in it's hug box as long as they don't push it on other people. but they do so **** em

I think that if people need to identify themselves as something out of the norm to be more comfortable in their OWN skin then let them. That being said, as soon as that becomes preachy or that person is just totally seeking attention then their ideals lose a lot of impact with me. I know a good few people who properly struggle with gender identity and, especially at a young age, that can become very stressful and confusing. These people have only ever told me in confidence and have never drawn attention to it unless they take procedures to look more like another gender. That being said, I've met plenty of other people who change their names, sexual identity, gender, etc like every other month to stir conversation about them. They then also have the audacity to scram and yell for people to accept them. These people give individuals with proper struggles a bad rap.

TLR If you identify as something to feel good then you do you. If you show boat that **** , **** off.

Okay OP, here's how I view it all. Some of it may be over-simplified and be a little opinionated, but I think it's a pretty reasonable guideline.

The gender section is definitely the trickiest. I think there's a distinct difference between gender roles and mental gender identification that people don't get. People are thinking "Hey, I'm a girl, but I like blue more than pink. That must mean I have the brain of a male!" because they are confusing stereotypes with actual gender dysphoria. That's what's leading people to believe that it doesn't exist, but there really isn't any doubt scientifically that it does; with even some physical differences in brain configuration among transgenders. I think calling it a mental illness will get rid of doubters and help get medical coverage for the help that they need.

The other confusing bit is people are making up tons of sexual orientations. But the four in the image are the basic ones that cover everything. For example pansexual is just a subset of bisexual, because they can be attracted to males and females. But I'd argue that doesn't matter because it's SEXuality, which means it should depend on the physical sex of the person you are looking at. If gender mattered for sexuality, then there would be 100+ different combinations and terms. Like there would be a specific term for a male who was attracted to females who identify as both a male and female. But that'd just be a subset of somebody who was straight.

A boy is a boy. Being a boy means you have a dick.
A girl is a girl. Being a girl means you have a vagina.
If you think otherwise you have a mental disorder.

Everything else is leftist quackery.
User avatar #130 to #125 - dreygur (20 hours ago) [-]
Technically a mental disorder, but people let them change as they please as it's the best known "treatment" as of now. The issue is the *********** twisting the **** for attention.
#132 to #130 - youregaylol (20 hours ago) [-]
Damn, I knew I should've put this in the original comment.

A boy is a boy. Being a boy means you have a dick.
A girl is a girl. Being a girl means you have a vagina.
If you think otherwise you have a mental disorder.
The treatment for this disorder isn't wearing a dress and embracing your delusions.

Everything else is leftist quackery.
User avatar #134 to #132 - dreygur (20 hours ago) [-]
Not the optimal treatment, but as far as I know, it's the best we know of for now.

ok so what is somebody born without a dick or vagina?
or what if someone had both?

born a girl but changed to have a dick

yeah but by what you said... born a boy but then lacking a dick would mean they slot into in fact being a girl and a girl having a dick makes her a boy

if you lost your dick you're just a guy who lost your dick.
the absence of a penis doesn't give you the ability to be a woman, nothing does.
you will always have the chemical biology of a male
User avatar #314 to #268 - chaosraptor (15 hours ago) [-]
what about post-ops that take hormones... they are adding the biological chemicals of the other gender... do they count as that new gender then?
User avatar #472 to #314 - zourch ONLINE (3 hours ago) [-]
still abnormally being changed to something that wasn't designed for it.
even if it was a miracle of science to perfectly transform a man to a woman
it would still be deemed unnatural and unwanted
Because its still technically a mans body and that's kinda creepy to think
#19 - anon (01/11/2016) [-]
gender is either male or female. even intersex people have a more prominent gender. transgender-ism occurs when one's brain is wired to be the opposite gender than their body thereby causing gender dysphoria. you can not be trans without gender dysphoria. i'm not sure how right i am, but by what i've read and experienced, this is my conclusion.
#12 - woodoo (01/11/2016) [-]
Meh, i just decided to self identify as metakin, my pronounce are i/decide/others/pronouns, which is handy, as i simply decide on referring to someone as male or female, and if they call em out on it, i can easily rub it in their face as i self identify them as male or female, and if they refuse my insa- i mean, if they deny me my gender identity, they are basically like those white folks in colonial america who would rip up black folks passports. Worked a charm so far.

What Is Your Gender?

Male

Female

Retarded
User avatar #42 - lewddragons ONLINE (23 hours ago) [-]
basing things biologically, intersexuals most certainly exist... genetics aren't perfect, and it's actually quite common for humans to be born with ambiguous genitalia, or even incorrect X/Y chromosome patterns.

I ain't defending the ridiculous kinda "special snowflake" made-up gender identities, but to say sex is limited to only "female" and "male" is just as wrong
User avatar #35 - sergeantpopeye (01/12/2016) [-]
I don't care what you do. You could throw darts at a wheel to determine your gender everyday and I wouldn't give damn.

What I do get annoyed at is when they expect special snowflake treatment and everyone around them treats them like they **** gold.

I'm going to treat them like a human, with complete apathy to their gender, sex or race and laughing when one of them says I have to call them some ******** pronoun

#358 - Nohelpforu (13 hours ago) [-]
Gender IS the personal identity. Sex is determined by chromosomes. In fact that's WHY we use the two as different terms.
#425 to #358 - anon (10 hours ago) [-]
gender is not a ******* identity, when you cut off a dogs dick or a sew up its ******* vagine it doesn't change to not a male or female, gender describes the sexual social natures of the male and female class. Imagine the greeks and their books of women ******* gods turned to animals, or their love of boys buttholes and even for their wishes to ******* the woods. All you have is a bunch of idiots who want to **** everything like the greeks do and want to call themselves what they want. Gender is not an identity, the whole spectrum thing is a farce, you either like chicks, dicks, both, none, or objects. Get your facts straight you **** .
User avatar #289 - pyjamadog (16 hours ago) [-]
The only people who are not getting this is America. And they're spreading their cancer around the world like some instragram whore looking for someone to compliment her new socks while if you're actually giving cristicism you're an inconsidered autismo faggot monster

All these wrong opinions of a word with a very clear definition.

Gender -the state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones).

but since we we're "blessed" with such a culturally rich society we have to deal with **** like this, honestly if a paper says anything about gender its always going to be
the biological meaning, so stop with your spectrum of autism.
#234 - anon (18 hours ago) [-]
Well, IMO, it depends on how it affects your life.
I think it's okay to leave people to their fantasies as long as they're not being rude or pushy about it.
Gender/sexual Identity is an important thing to me because it's something I'm kinda working through right now, but then I see all these people who are complaining and making big deals out of pronouns and such, and it bothers me. I think the main reason to concede to people's identities is to make them feel comfortable, but if they're making others unduly uncomfortable, then they don't deserve it.
Another problem is that some people create it as part of a character, I think. People want to be something else as a form of escape, and even if they don't really know the full extent of what they're getting into, they still push it because they want to be different.
My personal golden rule is that if someone's cool with me and my abnormalities, then I'm cool with them and theirs.

So I think that anything of this nature is justified as long as you're not a dick about it. (Just think of it as a nickname.)
Sorry for the long post.
