I know they are just comic book characters but honestly I wish I could be half way as decent as these characters are sometimes. Instead I'm in my room on funny junk with my dick in my hands. Wouldn't change it for the world though.

As most know, Injustice series. This is Year 3 #13, 14 imgur.com/gallery/K6IG4 and imgur.com/gallery/1YDtg

Spoiler to what's happening: Batman drugs superman and he's out like a light. In his dream, he's seeing the world as it could have been if he McChilled and Louis lived. Bruce, obviously, kills the Joker and takes the punishment like a man. He accepts that the world can't be saved by a villain and gives his life to protect his friend. In 14, Superman even talks with his daughter about how they can enforce order, and his daughter reiterates that you can't dictate your way into world order (just like you can't punch a super storm away). The dream goes so far that he grows old in Smallville with Louis. When Supes wakes up, he's a little cunt about it and complains that seeing what could have been is worse and it's like it's been taken away all over and throws more bitch-fits.

What I want to know is why would they arrest Batman for killing The Joker, the main threat to Gotham, who'd literally never ever stop trying to **** **** up?
#189 to #134 - anon (01/07/2016) [-]
What I want to know is why they didn't just say "screw the criminal insanity laws, it's not like this guy actually matches any known psychosis, lets just fry the ****** ".

He's killed like, hundreds of people. That already warrants a "kill on sight" level threat. **** , cops shoot people just for reaching into their pockets too fast. It's not like he's bulletproof or anything.

well this is just silly
Batman killing the Joker, guards in jail with guns, said guards pointing their guns at Superman
this is beyond silly, this is *****
User avatar #96 to #50 - medewu (01/07/2016) [-]
Its a dream of an Alternate version of what happened.

instead of Superman going and killing the Joker, into which the Injustice Series branches into.

Batman took the burden and killed him, so as to not have superman going into a child's rampage.

We also don't know which prison Bruce is in, the guards can have weapons and since Bruce isn't in his suit or protected it would be effective and they would be pointed at Bruce not Superman.

and that's beside the whole point I'm making here

it's *****
User avatar #113 to #108 - ogthegreat (01/07/2016) [-]
As opposed to reality. I'm strengthening your point by saying that the events depicted are unrealistic expectations for the set universe we're looking at. Not the whole guns pointed at Superman thing though. Guys tend to shoot at Superman until they run out of ammo and for some reason it's not basic knowledge that the word's strongest super hero is bullet proof. And I'm further expanding on anomorphous' point by saying the only way for this to happen in the set universe without contradicting the knowledge about the universe that have been established is for this to be a dream. It's not rocket science.

'IT'S AGAINST BATMAN'S CREED TO KILL PEOPLE'

Only since progressive faggots and manchildren started writing him. He used to carry a gun around. And he used it.

The fact of the matter is, they semifrequently reset the Batman contenuity explicitly because after a certain point, you can't really justify letting someone like the Joker keep getting away. How many second chances are enough? Two? Ten? Fifty?

Sometimes a bad apple is a bad apple. But a lot of writers don't like portraying Batman in the old, old way, so they just reset the contenuity so they don't have to deal with it.

It's a pity. Once upon a time, the Dark Knight wasn't afraid to go Punisher on criminals who deserved it. It was a very dark comic, particularly by the standards of the time. He might perpetually commit the truly tragic or deranged, like Mr. Freeze or Bane, but villains like the Joker, Penguin, or Croc are by and large simply menaces. One day, eventually, they run out of second chances.

And if the Gotham Justice Department won't do what needs to be done, then Batman, by all rights, should. And once upon a time, he did.

Most of the extended "Bat-Family" were originally just aspects of the original Batman. Batman always had a little Red Hood in him, until they made the Red Hood. He always had some Nightwing in him, until they created Nightwing.

The writers of DC have simply been simplifying Batman's character and using the shaved off pieces to make more Gotham heroes. They've been doing it for years.

One day, hopefully soon, they give up on the political correctness die-hard pacificism ********* , fold all of them back into Batman, and give us a real dark, grim noire Batman. Something that lands in some middle zone between a triangulation of Sherlock Holmes, Batman Year One, and Judge Dredd.

Then maybe I'll start actually buying comics again.

Give it another 2 years and just maybe they'll do an actual reboot that'll remake the characters in a better fashion.

User avatar #207 to #158 - elcreepo ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
Except that the whole batman doesn't kill idea is part of who batman is. It gives his character depth.

The other characters don't give a **** . Superman would kill in a heartbeat. And we get our sick kicks there.

But batman swore never to sink so low as to do the very thing that destroyed his childhood. Because if he killed, the evil in gotham would win.

It isn't progressive faggotry, it's making something different out of the comic than just the run of the mill violence and gore. It's setting the comic and the character apart.

Yeah, the joker is a bad apple. But killing him would make batman weak and just as low as the joker.
User avatar #210 to #207 - elcreepo ONLINE (01/07/2016) [-]
And don't get me wrong- it suits the other characters to kill where killing is needed. They have other character-defining backgrounds.

But to a guy who watched his parents die as a child and still somehow find the strength to become a vigilante with no superpowers, it would be pretty stupid to make him kill, even if it was just the joker.

Except that super heroes should never replace the justice system. That's EXACTLY what Injustice: Gods Among Us is about.

Super-Heroes must always act as policeforce/detectives and apprehend the criminals, not be judge/jury/executioner

Reminds me a little of something Hemingway once said: "never think that war, no matter how necessary, nor how justified is not a crime. Ask the infantry and the dead."

Sometimes there are fierce and ruthless enemies we must destroy, but no weapon, no violence, has ever settled a moral problem. It can impose a solution, but it cannot guarantee it to be a just one.
User avatar #90 to #56 - sudminator (01/07/2016) [-]
There can be no real change without sacrifice......and to make yourself a martyr, just to uphold your "moral" code is childish....but let's be honest Batman (for as much as I like him) is a retarded spoiled child.
In the real world joker would be executed after his FIRST debacle.
No, mindless violence doesn't solve the root of a moral problem, but if you destroy the root of the moral problem, then the problem is gone.

My craving is real

Srsly, 10 canceled games since 2012 ... www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=997613 ... last one got kinda conserved in shadow of mordor though.
User avatar #170 to #165 - sudminator (01/07/2016) [-]
Dead Sun would have been **** , it was basically a remake of the Soul Reaver for the modern "hip" children, all with emo heroes (more so then the original ) and brooding brooding and MORE brooding....... **** that.
Be happy for the Soul Reaver you got, it's never coming back, not the way the fans want to, better for it to die with dignity, then watch it debase itself for cash like a street whore.....
User avatar #171 to #170 - joekerr (01/07/2016) [-]
I'm probably more of an optimist than you in that regard, as I see some chance in that gameplay video, but then again, it's fine as it is. I mean the ending of Defiance ... "hope" ... there's way worse open endings and even worse closed ones, so I'll agree with you on that one.

Considering Hennig had left, I'm pretty sure storywise there wouldn't have been any ********* .
User avatar #175 to #171 - sudminator (01/07/2016) [-]
There wasn't enough story to go around (sure there was something, and the concept was ready....) not enough for a whole game.
You DO realise those two guys from the Dead Sun gameplay video are "Kain" and "Raziel" right? You would accept such herecy!? Are you really a fan? A real fan must strive for the work he loves to be better.....not just continue for the sake of continuing.
User avatar #179 to #175 - joekerr (01/07/2016) [-]
That lack of story is what I meant with lack of Hennig. How they fixed that Blood Omen 2 continuity-screwup - instead of discarding it - really amazed me.

Like I said there was something to finish, how did the (completed) Soul Reaver got into the cathedral for young Kane to take? Who was the olden Kane the younger one had to fight in the same game? What happened to Janos Audron after he fell into that green **** ?..........But you can kinda make up those holes in your mind, well you know except.....WHAT THE **** !!! happened to Janos?!?! You don't need a whole game for that. (not that I don't want it ) I saw the concept where Kain with the completed Reaver (Raziel) went to the demon realm to save Janos, that would have been badass......but it's never gonna happen.
