I refuse to believe that any Call of Duty ******** game can provoke even the smallest thought / feelings in the player.
This genre is bad by definition.

Who else here didn't give a **** when they found the charred civilians?
Not even being edgy, the game just didn't make it sad for me.

I'm currently unemployed and close to being broke but I've bought this for the emotional rollercoaster it seems to be. Wish me luck guys.
I, for some reason, still haven't played this game
you get to shake 'n bake some ************* in it?

You know, the game is best played when you don't know that not just a generic shooter. I was over-hyped about the game due to the spoilers and was honestly kinda disappointing because of it.

I played the game but the reason I didn't care was because EVERYONE wanted to kill me.
Even the US soldiers. It was like shoot on sight. How am I supposed to care then? Maybe these people are up to some shady **** that needs to be dealt with.
If these people had just you know not started to shoot at me we could have discussed things out. Also if you're gonna make your character be crazy at least give some hints on it.
Nobody decides to mention that they don't hear anything from the radio you keep using. Like nobody.
Black Ops SP did it better because some soldiers started to ask what the hell you where doing at certain times. When you finally got to know most of it was a lie you could put it together rather quickly. Here it came out of no where.

Go and replay it, because not only are there clues, but Walker's mannerisms and even his face and movement changes a bit with each of his 'episodes'.

His face and movement changes because the actions he takes and the fact that he has to fight against soldiers from his own country.
But not once does the game even remotely show that the radio he picked up is actually broken. Which would also mean he was crazy from the very start and didn't become crazy during this game.
It was just very poorly done.

There's a point to the notion that there was no choice in going through with the white phosphorous scene. You're willingly playing the game, but dissonance comes from the realization that an action you freely took, or that an action you're about to freely take, conflicts with one of your moral objections. There was no hope to continue the game UNLESS you dropped the white phosphorous. There was no diplomatic option. The exit wasn't open, there was no exit. There so few options to choose between mercy and revenge, and it was towards the end of the game. Even with the scene at the bridge with "this soldier is an asshole and this indigenous peoples is innocent, shoot one" I shot at the personnel overhead for having me make the choice at all. That's the thing...there's only like...3 of those...
They force you to take the actions that you do, and then try to make you feel bad for it, because you chose it. In the real world, someone asks you to do something questionable, there's a myriad of choices. You can refuse. You can walk away. You can question it. You can tell the person to **** off. You can go to do said action and then never be seen again.
Fallout 4: Maxson tells me to go kill Dance, because " ****** synths". After arguing, which was a speech option, he was adamant. I said " **** , fine, Roger Wilco! ******* douchebag" with the intention of talking to, and finally sparing him. When I met him, he's telling me to do it...for the same reason Maxson wants it. After that, I shot him, because better he feel his principles were fulfilled than him kill himself with Linkin Park playing in the background. Then, I dropped the Brotherhood like a pile of potatoes and went with the Railroad.
I don't act with dissonance, because when I see it in myself, I make the ******* change. And this ******* game is trying to make me feel bad because "the way you are in vidya games is the way you are in real life! Watch as we force you to act a certain way!"
Aside from that...10/10 best game. As a psych nut, I absolutely loved watching the characters decent into justification, confusion, and eventual break in psyche caused by dissonance. Looking at the actions as the choice of the character, absolutely flawless representation.
