I was waiting for one of the blades to fly out and hit someone in the audience, or someone to get whacked in the dick. I was pleasantly surprised. That was cool as **** .

when you watch the video without the lightsaber effects its cringeworthy. There are 8 year old wushu practitioners who do this better with actual ******* swords.
darn, just gonna have to search through the clone wars wiki.
At first I was like, "Am I the only one annoyed by the fact that the one dressed as the jedi had the red lightsaber and the sith had a double blue and green?"
Then I went back and re-watched it to realize they switched. Impressive. Most impressive.

I want to see how a historic sword fighter like skallagrim would use a lightsaber. Would it be used like a claymore with emphasis on constant momentum, or like a rapier or epee?
I suppose. So fencing would be a more sensible tactic than what is curently used.

somewhat, but while force isn't needed, slashes and hacks would still be useful, cause you are kinda waving a bar of " **** you I cut through almost anything".
Closer to a katana/chinese straight saber style than a rapier.

True. Honestly, i think a cortosis sword would have a slight advantage, due to its higher inertia. Unless the other bloke is using force assisted swings. And if thats the case, then one may well use a more traditional style of swordplay since you can artificially add weight to your swings. In fact, you could rapidly switch between weights and styles to really throw your opponent off.

the sword would have an advantage in some ways, but it would be more tiring to use than a lightsaber. Basically you'd just have to dodge/parry/block until they get tired, then go on the offensive.
I suppose thats the advantage of the lightsaber. Force assisted swings to compensate for the lack of weight without actually adding weight.

yeah, I wasn't even touching on space wizardy, just the weapons against each other. But still a valid point.
Yeah, thats what i meant in that other comment about artificcially adding weight to the swings. Go from a light parry into a full blooded highlander swing in an eyeblink, with enough force to make it effective.
