Even if the police are wrong, they shouldn't fight it there. 9/10 of the time they just end up saying/doing **** that gets them in more trouble or that makes it impossible for you lawyer to talk you out of it. That's why the US has due process and a judicial system.

There is a difference between smoking weed,
smoking weed when it is illegal,
and smoking weed when it is illegal, putting your family's financial wellbeing at risk, acting like a dickhead for no other reason than to be above the law, horrifying your 3-year-old child with unnecessary screaming and yelling, likely scarring them for life and giving them a lifelong fear of the police, and then ignoring your child while they are sobbing, because their parents are screaming for help.
This is beyond reckless and irresponsible, this is near evil.
I watch My Little Pony. I plan to never lose my sense of childlike wonder. When I get a house, it will have a ballpit in it.
But these people need to grow the **** up, and take responsibility for their actions.

This video is actually pretty messed up. There's normal (albeit smart-ass) people who know their rights next to stoners parroting what they heard on youtube next to complete nutjobs. Not a very objective representation of the subject.
I think there's nothing wrong with exercising your rights (AS LONG AS YOU ACTUALLY COMPREHEND THEM).
Is it unnessecary? Pretty much all the time.
Is it worth the trouble? Nope.
Is it annoying? Yup.
BUT as long as you act within your rights, I say go for it if you feel like it.
