Most people played the game through once, then spent the rest of their time making penis creatures with gaping bungholes.

Spore was quite fun for me until the tribe stage.

spore had that certain something at the first two stages, i enjoyed making a creature, evolve it overtime and all the good stuff. After that it felt weird.. sorta like quickly *********** together. Shame EA most likely cursed the game before it was finished 100%.

I liked it, but I only found out about the game after it was released, so I didn't experience the expectation disappointment that Greevon described.
It was fun until the last stage of the game (where if I remember correctly you had to populate other planets). After that I tried to replay as a vegetarian penis, but the game has 0 replayability so I didn't go on for too long.

I liked spore,
the first 4 stages are pretty fun
even if the civilisation and tribal stage are blant alteast they arent empty just like the space stage
but, i dont care anymore, i still can make stuff there, without playing the game
just too bad that they ****** up the end so hard, could have been a great game

I enjoyed playing spore to no end but the way they ****** over everyone in terms of marketing and hype was just too far.

I really liked spore

The other spore games like on the DS and Wii were the disappointments.

As far as I am concerned, Spore was by far one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history. Don't get me wrong, I got more than a few good hours of playtime out of it (and the cartoony aspects were somewhat amusing for like 5 minutes). But the knowledge that it could have been so much more haunted and tainted every last one of those hours. I honestly feel bad for Will Wright, he basically had his Magnum Opus shat on because some ********* at EA decided that actual science was 'too confusing' for the average consumer.

And that's precisely the problem with that mentality. When you cater to the lowest common denominator, you get exactly that. We could have gotten a legitimate evolution/civilization simulator, but instead we ended up with 'Penis monsters: the game'.

To be fair to EA. The game becoming more cute than scientific was from a conflict within the dev team rather than EA telling them to make it more cute.

Spore and it's Galactic Adventure expansion pack used up a lot of my time for quite awhile after it first came out.

I thought it was fun...

I still have that games and the Galactic Adventures expansion. Why I still I have I'll never know
