As far as I can tell is that it's true and they had a legitimate leak... But there's still a non-negligible chance that it's wrong or a half-truth in that there's more options.
For example you can legitimately say that there's only four endings to New Vegas: NCR, Legion, House, Courier.
Or hell, you could possibly say there's only one and it'd be pretty true: Taking the Dam
Bit there's still a ******** of sub-endings in the synopsis of the game that's impossible to take into account when giving a summary.
Plus we only know about the beginning and the end; which to be frank, have been sub-par in every Bethesda game since Oblivion. Where as the journey and just plain dicking about is the entire point and meat to their games.

That\s not really the ending. You kill the only bad guy like 2 hours into the main quest, other than that every ending you could choose is pretty equal. The writers did a good job of making a story where there is no real good guy or bad guy outside of you and the decisions you make. The Institute isn't necessarily evil, simply operating on a higher level of understanding. Brotherhood of Steel isn't evil either, they\re doing their best to make sure technology doesn't destroy humanity again. And the Minutemen are just good guys who help people. The Railroad are pretty much like PETA, but for robots. I mean there are raiders and gangsters and muggers and just general assholes throughout the wasteland. The story is a lot like the skyrim imperial/stormcloak civil war story where there's no real good or bad choice, as both sides have their pros and cons. You choose your side and who you believe in and stick with them, and that's the end of it.
