The concept is cool, but for every second you spend figuring out the puzzle, you spend 10 on executing the solution, which is not challenging in itself, only tedious. it would be SLIGHTLY less tedious if you had the option of moving Doom-fast.
Also, the puzzles here are very much alike. in fact, 80% of them are essentially the same puzzle. Looking at portal and antichamber, both introduce new mechanics every few puzzles. This video actually does not want me to play the game, because it will get old quickly. if a full version hits steam, i'm certain it will be a prime subject for the 2 hour refund policy, unless the rest of the game has far higher quality, and that's not very likely.

Personally i'm hoping they're keeping the content in the video here to showcase what exactly you can do in the game without spoiling too many of the mechanics that will be used later. I know i was a little suspicious at the sight of the polygon logo but personally i'm really hopeful for an antichamber 2.

with the exeption of DX:HR, i can't think of a single game where the promotional material reflected less of the mechanics and features than the game does.
Portal 2 again as an example, even had dedicated videoes with cave johnson explaining the core of the new mechanics before release. The more hooks you throw out into the water, the more bites you are gonna get.
if they only throw out one hook, it stands to reason that they either have no idea how to market, or they only have one hook to begin with. Either way, my impression is that it isn't more than a quickly expended novelty.
combine that with the low amount of challenge the video is presenting (which i admit is likely to not be representative of the game) and lots of tedium, and this is a game i won't even consider pirating.

"it stands to reason that they either have no idea how to market" you forget, it IS an indie game
either way i'm kinda in the same boat as you, i'm just being hopeful because i like the concept.

seeing as how they got their **** going viral, i'd say they did some really successful marketing.

I.... I don't know what to think. This is ******* with my brain man.

The game mechanics are amazing, though. I hope they add in some weird story to it about perception and that not all things are as they seem.
#87 to #86 - superanonymouspers ONLINE (10/30/2015) [-]
I'd be really impressed if they managed to make some kind of story with this. I'd play the hell out of it if they did.
#89 to #87 - baconhero (10/30/2015) [-]
Definitely. Some commenters are comparing this to Stanley Parable. That and The Beginner's Guide (same dev) are both great games. If anyone can make a game about perception with these mechanics, it'd be that guy.

I dont know why. But it makes me feel sick...

Also its one of those games that pisses me off... Cause I cant hate it for following really simple rules. and I cant hate its cleverness for the complex answers to simple rules.... It pisses me off due to it in concept being easy but in reality a really good puzzle.

It's like the Stanley Parable, but with perspective. I love it!
