Basically after you play the game long enough you end up using the wikkia to look up the smaller details in the game. After you collect everything and go everywhere you start to look stuff up just for the sake of collecting every little thing in existence.
So you are not only a super powerful killer of the desert but you have endless knowledge of every detail of every single thing.

Fallout: New Vegas is the kind of game where you either learn or find out that a character carries specific items, so you sometimes find yourself hunting down strangers for no other reason than greed. If you're trying to RP as the character you play, it makes them just seem like some kind of omnipotent asshole.
