I burn 3500 calories a day sitting still. I'm 6'3" and 192 lbs. I do a lot of cycling, and on those days I have to consume upwards of 4500-5500 calories depending on miles, speed.

Some of my friends consume much less calories than I do, and they're ****** fat. I eat donuts at bed time, drink like a fish and don't gain a pound.

I hate fat people like this who just make up excuses and blame everything but themselves for being fat. Poor diet, lack of exercise is why you're fat. Now ******* accept it and do something about it if it bothers you so much.

Sure, maybe there is a genetic predisposition to overeating or maybe it's just cultural, but the same can be said of alcoholism too. My dad is the first male on both sides of my family to reach 55. The last generation was wiped out by cirrhosis, liver cancer, kidney failure, a DT-induced aneurysm, and driving into a tree at 70 mph, all related to massive amounts of booze consumed. What did he do to change his fate? Surely he just doesn't drink, right? No, he just watches what he drinks. No liquor unless it's a special occasion and no more than a six-pack per day, though that's still only for special occasions. He noticed he had those same tendencies as those before him as well and instead of accepting his "fate" and dying before his sons graduated, he took responsibility for his actions and did something about it.

It's no different for the obese. You can't be expected to give up food completely, but if you want to live a healthy life you need to eat something that isn't a triple Baconator. And instead of spending your time going to talk shows to bitch about how hard it is to be fat, use it to go for a walk.

I'm tired of hearing fat people say they can't lose weight because "exercise is hard".

But I'm also tired of guys saying they can't gain weight because they "eat a ton". You don't eat enough. If you actually counted your calories, ate the right foods, wrote everything down to make sure you were getting what your body needed, and then you didn't gain any weight after 3 months, you would be a genetic anomoly.

I was 150 lbs at 6'3. I started hitting the weights hard to no avail. I said I "ate a ton" and refused to believe my diet was the issue. Then I decided to count calories just to see, because I had nearly given up. I was only eating 2500 calories a day if I was lucky. I simply ate different, healthier, foods, and added in protein shakes with every meal to equal about 4500 calories a day. And I've gained 40 lbs in about 9 months. It can be done, its just that like the fat people, you don't want to admit your own faults and mistakes to yourself.

Look at your issue from all angles before you declare yourself incapable of gaining or losing weight.

These kind of fat people piss me off. I weigh 280 ******* pounds and im 6'1", I get out and ******* run and lift 4 miles everyday, a 300lbs bench and 540lbs squat everyday in order to get this fat to go away. Yes, it's ******* hard. No, I don't sit arround complain about how hard it is. I get up every morning knowing I'm doing a **** ton better than every other unmotivated fat ass out there and it sickens me that they can't put out the motivation to lose the weight they try to rationalize as ok but boils down to they can't get their asses of the couch to get rid of it like they really want.

Some people have a harder time losing weight due to thyroid problems though. It's not impossible, it's just a lot harder than for the average person, and consider how much the average person does to lose weight

Yup, losing weight is pure maths. You need to consume fewer calories (or burn more) than you eat, it's as basic as that.
3 months ago I started doing the P90X3 workout and downloaded the myfitnespal app to track calories. Went from 79 to 72kg (that's about 14 lbs of weight lost, for you american guys) and I feel fit as hell, my muscles are starting to grow and I finaly eat proper food.
My 90 day workout cycle is over tomorrow, and I think I'll just start it over once more to lose a few more kilograms and then I'll start packing some muscle. gif is random

At the end of the day, everyone still deserves some level of respect. I cant imagine being ridiculed because of ones weight, but at the same time, being obese isn't something that should be advocated or protected.
