I burn 3500 calories a day sitting still. I'm 6'3" and 192 lbs. I do a lot of cycling, and on those days I have to consume upwards of 4500-5500 calories depending on miles, speed.

Some of my friends consume much less calories than I do, and they're ****** fat. I eat donuts at bed time, drink like a fish and don't gain a pound.

I hate fat people like this who just make up excuses and blame everything but themselves for being fat. Poor diet, lack of exercise is why you're fat. Now ******* accept it and do something about it if it bothers you so much.

All i get from this is people are saying "being overweight is bad for you just as being a smoker is bad you, it has a negative trend of effect on you." Fat people get pissy about it and start going "stop making me feel bad about my body!". I'm a smoker and I hate that I'm a smoker, it's hard to quite though, just like the dub broad said "it's hard to exercise" well yea it's hard to quit smoking but I'm trying cuz it's the only way it's gonna happen. Stop playing the victim and just accept that it's not healthy and move on!!

Sure, maybe there is a genetic predisposition to overeating or maybe it's just cultural, but the same can be said of alcoholism too. My dad is the first male on both sides of my family to reach 55. The last generation was wiped out by cirrhosis, liver cancer, kidney failure, a DT-induced aneurysm, and driving into a tree at 70 mph, all related to massive amounts of booze consumed. What did he do to change his fate? Surely he just doesn't drink, right? No, he just watches what he drinks. No liquor unless it's a special occasion and no more than a six-pack per day, though that's still only for special occasions. He noticed he had those same tendencies as those before him as well and instead of accepting his "fate" and dying before his sons graduated, he took responsibility for his actions and did something about it.

It's no different for the obese. You can't be expected to give up food completely, but if you want to live a healthy life you need to eat something that isn't a triple Baconator. And instead of spending your time going to talk shows to bitch about how hard it is to be fat, use it to go for a walk.

I'm tired of hearing fat people say they can't lose weight because "exercise is hard".

But I'm also tired of guys saying they can't gain weight because they "eat a ton". You don't eat enough. If you actually counted your calories, ate the right foods, wrote everything down to make sure you were getting what your body needed, and then you didn't gain any weight after 3 months, you would be a genetic anomoly.

I was 150 lbs at 6'3. I started hitting the weights hard to no avail. I said I "ate a ton" and refused to believe my diet was the issue. Then I decided to count calories just to see, because I had nearly given up. I was only eating 2500 calories a day if I was lucky. I simply ate different, healthier, foods, and added in protein shakes with every meal to equal about 4500 calories a day. And I've gained 40 lbs in about 9 months. It can be done, its just that like the fat people, you don't want to admit your own faults and mistakes to yourself.

Look at your issue from all angles before you declare yourself incapable of gaining or losing weight.

These kind of fat people piss me off. I weigh 280 ******* pounds and im 6'1", I get out and ******* run and lift 4 miles everyday, a 300lbs bench and 540lbs squat everyday in order to get this fat to go away. Yes, it's ******* hard. No, I don't sit arround complain about how hard it is. I get up every morning knowing I'm doing a **** ton better than every other unmotivated fat ass out there and it sickens me that they can't put out the motivation to lose the weight they try to rationalize as ok but boils down to they can't get their asses of the couch to get rid of it like they really want.

Some people have a harder time losing weight due to thyroid problems though. It's not impossible, it's just a lot harder than for the average person, and consider how much the average person does to lose weight

We need to stop this whole everyone is beautiful pussy **** that's been going on. This is why the USA has such high obesity numbers and many other countries around the world. Because we tell the kids that it's OK to be fat when it ******* isn't. They should never be ok with being fat. Once that happens it means that they lost the battle. People should strive to be healthy, not just give up and accept being a fatass sack of blubber. It's disgusting. Stop telling kids that it's ok to be fat and they wont think that it is. Tell them it's NOT OK and that they shouldn't be and maybe they wont be ok with being fat.

Even if fat is genetic; that's a problem, not an excuse. I could just say that it's okay for me to kill people because I have mental issues, when that's just a ****** situation that I have to deal with, not justify.
