Are you all teenagers or something?
These uninformed opinions formed from mass consensus.
"I hate macs because they're gay xD".
Is it too much to expect more than ad-hom attacks?
I want a mac as a dev.
Unix, what Mac OSX and Linux is based on, is fun to code with because Windows can be very constraining in how you can customize things for productivity, has a very inconvenient file architecture, and doesn't have some of the tools I like to use without installing cygwin or some ******** .
And no, I have a playstation for gaming, I don't give a flying **** about muh graffiks as long as I like the damn game.

AND the famous quote: ''It's not the outsides that count, but the insides''.

Don't get me wrong, but buying a mac for daily usage like facebook and other stuff makes it worthless, am i right?

Hey. Don't associate us fags with apple. Just cause we appreciate dick doesn't mean we're gonna pay to ride a branded one

That's like having your Apple crash once, then saying "I better go buy a PC".

Once you go gay, you never turn away. No, but really though, don't compare us gays to Apple, thats just fukkin insulting. We still know how to use a decent computer, I built Sergei here 7 months ago and he has served me well for my gaming. I'd say going gay is more like going Linux. Its pretty much just as good, some people think its better, some worse, but at the end of the day, all it really is is different.

RAID is love, RAID is life.
No really though, I've had both 0 and 1 configurations (for my home PC and file server), and they both help a lot, luckily I haven't had a situation where I've needed 1 yet.

I work tech support for a university and I can tell you Mac hard drives go bad at about the same rate as PC hard drives. Also Mac's hardware is pretty much the same as windows it just the way OSX utilize the hardware is more efficient.

I use both apple and windows they have their advantages and disadvantages one of the major good things about apple is how easy it is to use and how the software manages resources. And how I do not have the headaches with windows. But its major drawback is not being able to change out the parts, but apple did ship my dad out a brand new computer that was way faster and had top end components in it after a few complaints for free! (I don't know how often apple does that) and the other major drawback to apple is that it does not have allot of games for it even wine does not work that well. The good thing about windows is how many applications it has but the drawbacks is the viruses and the terrible resource management. And also the crashes and stuff (apple does have crashes too! but very rare). I use to own a PC until I had the money to fork over for a apple pc. But not to many Windows users know that if you run windows in bootcamp on mac it runs way better than windows standalone. You can still run all your applications without problem and you won't have to worry about viruses (apple takes care of that problem) and the resources are ran better. So in my opinion just get an apple computer then run bootcamp with what ever Win. version you like and you wont have all the headaches with standalone windows. Holy crap this might not be the most grammatically correct paragraph but atleast I got my point across

As a writer, I would rather have a macbook then windows or Linux. Scrivener is one of the best writing software out there and damn it's made for Mac and not Windows even if there's a windows version. It's not as good.

Bad part. Im a gamer too so having a macbook would just suck balls in that way.

Also HDD failure has nothing to do with OS.
That's a hardware problem.
#59 to #57 - iscrewbabies (06/19/2014) [-]
If the HDD is busted, then you'll need a windows installation disc.
Unless the person already has another backup HDD with windows already installed on it.
