it would be a damn shame if i introduced that snake to my new friend
#86 to #36 - ghettoham (02/10/2014) [-]
It would, wouldn't it?

It wouldn't be a shame though if you'd **** off somewhere else.
#34 - xgreenmaidenx (02/10/2014) [-]
I have always wanted a snake, but i can't think of letting it kill small animals everyday so it can eat. It seems horrible, and even if you get over it after some days, i can never start with it.

But you can always dream...
User avatar #43 to #34 - jackmanagan (02/10/2014) [-]
not a snek owner but im pretty sure you only need to feed them like 3 times a week
#46 to #43 - aleksandurr (02/10/2014) [-]
With a python, from baby to adult, its once a week with baby mice, after about 4 months its typically every two weeks with normal mice, 1 year and they should be ok to eat every month with baby to adult rats. The thing is that you have to feed them until they wont take anymore willingly, so typically two or three rodents every feeding.

#27 to #10 - highlanderpony (02/10/2014) [-]
You have a fundamental misunderstanding of python biology and behavior. They are rarely aggressive towards humans, or anything bigger than they are for that matter. And they are also non-venomous. If it was comfortable enough to crawl into his pants its obviously not easily threatened by him.
User avatar #181 to #27 - stripey (02/11/2014) [-]
Do they like humans? like dogs do
#187 to #181 - highlanderpony (02/11/2014) [-]
It depends on the snake and how much you handle them. The one i had used to be pretty solitary and secluded when it was young but as it got bigger and more used to me it would frequently curl up in my lap when i was on my pc. While he did that presumably for the bodyheat more than anything else, it takes a lot of trust for a snake to approach a human like that.

Tl;Dr: Yeah, but getting them to like you isnt as easy as it is with dogs.
#169 to #27 - doubleac (02/11/2014) [-]
Excuse but if it's anywhere near my exposed genitals something is wrong.
Birds, however, actually no, birds aren't allowed in that area either.
#113 to #27 - rabbitturd ONLINE (02/11/2014) [-]
Almost positive the one in the content is a boa
User avatar #202 to #113 - jkrhpotter (02/11/2014) [-]
Red tailed boa to be exact. I have one of my own.
User avatar #32 to #27 - ninjaroo (02/10/2014) [-]
Even if it was aggressive, python vs human in the human house? Surely a desperate human would think to use the nearest sharp object to try remove the snake.
User avatar #5 - nuclearnarwhal (02/10/2014) [-]

that cobra is obviously defanged (or devenomed, whatever you call it), but that's pretty dumb on the parents part. Now that kid is going to think all snakes are safe
User avatar #208 to #7 - dyalibya (02/11/2014) [-]
Are you retarded? Cobra? That's a python, it's a constrictor it doesn't have fangs or venom
User avatar #209 to #208 - pokemonstheshiz (02/11/2014) [-]
pythons don't have hoods genius
User avatar #210 to #209 - dyalibya (02/11/2014) [-]
OK, so it's a red tail boa, still a constrictor, no venom
User avatar #192 to #7 - Corak (02/11/2014) [-]
the snake just looks so ruffled with joy it starts kissing the child
i wish a snake would kiss me
#179 to #7 - Dember (02/11/2014) [-]
Removing the fangs and/or venom glands of a venomous snake is disgusting and stupid.
First off, you can't sedate a snake properly so it has to be done without anesthesia, just mutilating the animal and causing it unimaginable pain as you cut its teeth out or dig into its head to get the sacs that produce the venom.

Just as importantly, snakes are known to have incredible regenerating abilities and they are known to re-grow fangs and glands, so that doesn't exactly make them in any way safe.

If you absolutely have to have a venomous snake for a pet (and it can be dome - just very, very carefully, and always with risks) then just invest in a proper locking enclosure and a snake hook. Don't mangle the animal to try to conform it to your preferences...in this case, it might cost you your life. : /

Alternatively: Get a normal, non-venomous pet snake instead. They are pet snakes and they make good pets. Also, pretty colors.
#125 to #7 - anonymous (02/11/2014) [-]
that kid is indian. indian think animals are their god. well that's kind of stupid.
User avatar #97 to #7 - elcreepo (02/11/2014) [-]
Actually, that kid is a snake handler to be in India. He will be bitten by cobras, devenomed or not, many times in his life. Some will be near death experiences.

Saw it on taboo

#16 to #7 - fantastick (02/10/2014) [-]
I doubt that kid is old enough to form a long lasting, coherent thought yet.
User avatar #12 to #7 - viperish (02/10/2014) [-]
Yeah totally.

Most likely she isn't going to even remember that this ever happened.
#11 to #7 - noobiereaper (02/10/2014) [-]
Its two different things, but this one is defanged, otherwise the little kids blood would be gushing from its head.
#8 to #7 - amuzen (02/10/2014) [-]
honestly do you REALLY think she would think snakes were any more or less dangerous if she never had this experience at all?
User avatar #3 - thunderchanter (02/10/2014) [-]
Now imagine if you left the snake to soak, and this happened to a friend who wasn't all that comfortable around snakes.
User avatar #2 - charagrin (02/10/2014) [-]
I miss my Red Tail now. He would actually follow me from room to room and wrap himself around my leg under my pantleg and just chill. I'd remove him to go do something and he would just follow me and try to get back where he was whether I was doing dishes, cleaning, vacuuming( ************ loved a warm vacuum too, whether it was running or not), etc.
#73 to #2 - vulper (02/10/2014) [-]
That's pretty sweet, gotta say snakes are one of the better pets imo.

Snakes and reptiles arent allowed. I think its because the people in charge of that **** thinks nobody can properly handle reptiles and snakes.
User avatar #23 to #22 - stifflimb (02/10/2014) [-]
