Regarding that change one, a woman did something earlier when a bank was wrongfully trying to take her house unless she paid them $50,000. She went to every other bank she could possibly find, got it in pennies, and tried paying them with that. They refused to accept the pennies and her lawyer pointed out if they don't accept a payment she's trying to pay they can't take her house. She ended up keeping the house and money.

So I just found out that Laurence C. Jones started his school a few counties away from me in Mississippi. He started up the Piney Woods School with just $2, inside of a an abandoned shed.
Apparently, he turned down an offer to teach at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama to go teach in a small town school in Mississippi.
Look how happy this ****** is. He was happy, because he was living his dream.
This is probably my new favorite black guy, ever.

Dude, he convinced a lynch mob to not only spare him, but to join his cause.

He could convince anyone of anything. I don't trust him.

He might be so good, that he convinced everyone he started this school.

He might be so good, he convinced everyone he's so good at convincing people.

Hie might be so good, he convinced everyone he exists, when really he doesn't.

Do people in china not have those change counting machines you find at the bank??
User avatar #120 to #109 - newsuperyoshi (02/10/2014) [-]
They do, but it's a country where paper money isn't very desirable to my knowledge.
User avatar #113 to #109 - aximil (02/10/2014) [-]
Large amounts of money changing people needs to be counted by hand by the receiver because the machine could very well mess up.
User avatar #116 to #113 - nought ONLINE (02/10/2014) [-]
The chance of a factory-tested machine messing up is way smaller than human error
User avatar #118 to #116 - aximil (02/10/2014) [-]
It is. But it's still the policy of most businesses to hand count larges amount of money. It's just that normally there aren't dickish people like this.

Fun fact: if you want to grill a steak and want to make sure is very soft, cut some pineapple crust and cover the meat with it for a couple of hours. (don't leave it for to long or the meat will rot... seriously...)

This one is bollocks.

These do exist and are called Fulgurite.
However the largest one ever found is 4.9m (around 16ft), which is comparable in size, but those things form largely underground, so only the top sticks out (like an iceberg).

The lightning striking sand one is ******** , that pic was caused by deposition.
If you put sand and water in a container with a hole in it, it will let out a slurry of the two. when it hits the ground the water is leeched away and the sand remains in bulbous globs.
I used to make sand castles like this as a kid all the time.
Finer sand has more structural integrity and if you leave it to dry in the sun for a while you can make overhanging structures like in the pic.

When lightning hits sand it becomes glass from the heat but the structure has long spreading tendrils, not blobs caused by gravity.
