Even the second one? the first one is my favorite movie of all time, but the second one was like a cheap aliens rip-off, the third one was stupid because there was too much bad CGI and way too many new plot holes and the guns looked really stupid and way too big to ever be used comfortable by anyone.

The first movie is still my favorite movie of all time, i just wish they'd done the series justice like it deserved but i feel like they just didn't know how to do it right, Casper Van Dien is a great actor though.

Yeah, that sounds about right, I can see that. and it would explain why the second was nothing like the first or third.

Some say the body is trying to find it's head, and it doesn't give a **** about your life.

It's from this series called "Sleepy Hollow", a Supernatural mixed with X-Files type show where a timetraveling Ichabod Crane and a cute black lady cop have to foil the Headless Horseman, who happens to be one of the 4 horsemen of apocalypse. Basically.

Same thing with deer skeletons and others, predators drag off pieces of the dead animal, and gnaw the bones apart until theres nothing left. For some reason, however, they dont generally bother with eating the skull, perhaps its too difficult to get the marrow.

Coyotes/predators probably ran off with the other bones or the bones are buried in sand.

I think the whole 'cliché' of cow sculls started with the body being buried but over time it just changed to cow skulls.

I just love how everyone, either jokingly or seriously, talks about this and cows in general. I love this site sometimes.

This is a wild guess but after all the connective tissue dries up the skull would be a just another bone which, with a strong enough dust storm, would be flung into the dessert.

This would also explain why you rarely see the body, because all of the bones got flung all over the dessert.

Or the cows were sent a message and that's why you don't see any more cows.

terrible question, its because the steer was being used to pull a wagon across the desert and it died of heat exhaustion. The body isnt there because if you live anywhere in the south/southwest you would know that coyotes will carry off bits of its body and leave the head due to its weight and lack of meat...

Sometime you do, sometimes you dont. the bones are much smaller and are often buried

The rest of the body gets eaten and carried off by desert animals. They don't eat the brain so they just leave it there.

Why don't they eat the brain? Seems wasteful. A cowbrain is like 65% fat and 32% protein and weighs half a kilo (slightly more than a pound). That's a lot of calories going to waste. Maybe smaller predators can't break through a cows skull and leave it, but with smaller prey? Surely they eat the brain.

It's hard to break a skull open, and they can just eat the eyes and other soft tissues.

I mean the butthole.

Cows do have horns. But on farms the farmers often remove these horns so when the cows get aggressive (yes a cow can get aggressive as well) they can't really harm each other or the farmer. The horns of a cow however are smaller and duller than their male counterpart, the bull.

-My grandparents were farmers, I've seen enough cows in my days-

Haha well technically I guess xD
Guess it depends on the race of cows, but on the cows we had, the horns were about 15-20cm at best and they were quite dull. So I'm guessing it would just make a small flesh wound. And I've never seen a cow attack a bull before.
But technically, I guess you're right. It could happen.

Hmm...
Perhaps the skull is stronger/denser than the rest of the cow's skeleton? Meaning the skull would last a while longer while the rest just kind of crumbles away.

But it's more likely just an on-going reference joke to have a cow skull in an American desert situation, like throwing in a Wilhelm scream when someone dies/falls/etc.

Coyotes will eat pretty much everything on a animal aside from the skull and spinal cord.

When I go hunting (in and around New Mexico) I honestly find more vertebrae and ribs than anything else. If I do come across a skull, it is typically from a coyote or something, not a cow.
