Susan is a girl's name
User avatar #99 to #93 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
Sorry, that last one was a name of a city. Let me re phrase it along with a reply.

If someone can name their child North West, I see no problem with a guy naming themselves Susan. Sure, it's not very creative, but at least it's not stupid or offensive or anything.

What does it matter if it's a girls name? It's a person's name first.
User avatar #101 to #99 - mrgreatnamess (12/05/2013) [-]
"but at least it's not stupid or offensive"
Maybe not in your eyes.

In a purely practical sense, it's a retarded name choice.
User avatar #103 to #101 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
How is it retarded in a practical sense? In a practical situation, how does a name even matter? It's not like having a feminine name is going to kill you or something. If someone else's name is sincerely offensive to you, you really need to either lighten up or get some stomach. If not both.
User avatar #104 to #103 - mrgreatnamess (12/05/2013) [-]
1. It's gonna cause awkward situations
2. Some people might treat you differently (read: worse) because of it
It's impractical.
User avatar #105 to #104 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
If you act awkwardly around a guy named Susan, it's your fault. Not his. Same goes for if you treat him worse for it.
#106 to #105 - mrgreatnamess (12/05/2013) [-]
And if you go around murdering people for their sexuality, it's your fault too.
But they're dead, and you're not.

It doesn't matter what's right, when the kid is crying his eyes out because he's being bullied in school because you thought it was "ok" to name him ******* Susan
User avatar #107 to #106 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
I have no idea what the first part of that was, but I'll ignore it for now. As for the latter, I'm not advocating naming your baby boy Susan. Now that's stupid right there. This isn't about a guy being born a Susan, it's a guy naming himself Susan. If they want to do that later when they understand the concept of it all, all the power to them.
User avatar #109 to #107 - mrgreatnamess (12/05/2013) [-]
Regardless of it being a boy named so by his parents, or it being a guy who suddenly thought " **** me, I wanna be called Susan" the same things still apply.

People are going to mock him, make fun of him and make him out to be a freak.
And, assuming he doesn't have the mental strength of ******* superman, he's gonna be negatively affected by this.
And for what? The ability to call himself Susan?

Regardless of right or wrong, these things will probably happen. If he thinks, at the end of it all, that it was all worth it, then good for him!
I wouldn't bet my money on it, though.
User avatar #116 to #109 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
Yes, nobody in the world can live with stupid people being judgmental about superficial **** . It all makes sense. Why else would it be that all of the minorities immediately kill themselves and there's no such thing as a willing cross gendered person? Of course!

FYI, not everyone is as superficial and thin skinned as you. Some people are willing to go a bit farther to feel like they're who they want to be.

It's called "making a reference" and it's almost as old as film itself.
User avatar #67 to #63 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
>almost as old
Try older, unless you somehow think that there was nothing worth referencing before everyone saw a film of a man riding a horse.
User avatar #68 to #67 - lamarsmithgot (12/05/2013) [-]
I was talking about reference in films, you giblet head.
User avatar #70 to #68 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
You said "Making a reference". No allusions where given to it being explicitly bound to the subject of film. Giblet head.
User avatar #74 to #70 - lamarsmithgot (12/05/2013) [-]
It can be inferred since the topic of the content is film, that the statement I was making was about film.

Giblet head
User avatar #84 to #74 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
Not only did you not use the word film in the part of the statement in question, but the part where you did mention the word film came chronologically after it, thus not giving any quantifiable suggestion that the statment was bound to the area of film. l2 sentence structure.

I still don't see why this show is so widely loved. The acting is pretty bad, the special effects are low budget crap, they come up with some of the most ridiculous solutions when they write themselves into a corner, and it is riddled with inconsistencies. Inb4 all the blind butthurt whofags thumb me down because i pointed out the flaws in their bad show.

User avatar #72 to #69 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
What, subtly joking about the cross gendered? What kind of sixties are you thinking of?
User avatar #75 to #72 - thebestpieever (12/05/2013) [-]
Wait, this was supposed to be a Cross gendered joke?
User avatar #77 to #75 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
Yeah, it's a guy dog trying to live like a woman dog. What were you thinking?
User avatar #78 to #77 - thebestpieever (12/05/2013) [-]
I thought the joke was supposed to be that he was flipping the proverbial bird to his owner by rejecting his name.
User avatar #86 to #78 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
No, he wants to be known as Susan despite being given a guy name by his owner, hence the "Life choices" bit at least I think.
User avatar #89 to #86 - thebestpieever (12/05/2013) [-]
I don't know. I would just like to think that we are way over the era of "Ha ha, gay people" and the joke was " **** you, I do what I want and my name is Susan 'cause **** you".
User avatar #182 to #89 - MoooP (12/05/2013) [-]
I don't know why you think transgender means they're gay.
User avatar #200 to #182 - thebestpieever (12/05/2013) [-]
'Cause "Ha ha. trangender" doesn't have the same point. Is that really important?
User avatar #186 to #182 - thegreathoodoo (12/05/2013) [-]
Because 90% of the time the transgender individual is attracted to the same sex as them prior to their op (if they even go through with the op, that is).

They may have a mutilated penis/growth hormones and the persona/mentality of the opposite sex, but lets be honest, that doesn't quite make them a girl/boy, now does it?

So yeah, gay... and maybe one hell of a sexual identity disorder...

not discriminating, just speaking the truth.
User avatar #198 to #186 - MoooP (12/05/2013) [-]
Calling people gay when transgender is involved is really complicated, you could just as easily make a case for them being gay because they liked the opposite gender BEFORE the op, since they are so convinced they are their new gender.
User avatar #90 to #89 - feelythefeel (12/05/2013) [-]
I doubt that though.

I think it's more of a joke than a troll. As in, they don't actually believe gay people should burn in Hell, but the joke is told from the perspective of someone who does.

I know people mostly dislike how people try to compare/reference/whatever to Doctor Who, but seriously, I kind of want to see what would happen if the character of Mary Poppins and the character of the Doctor met.

just a thought

I think you have it backwards. Maybe Susan is the Time Lord, and the horse and dog are two of his regenerations.
#55 - upyoursnumbnuts (12/05/2013) [-]
Of course she's the last regeneration. He goes god only how many as a man, then one as a woman and says, " **** you, I'm not doing that again."
