Am I the only one who doesn't have ****** friends? If I saw I don't want to drink they're just like "Ok that's cool."
User avatar #31 - srskate (12/04/2013) [-]
Yup, I know that feel.
#29 - yodaddysofat ONLINE (12/04/2013) [-]

My university says that 30-something percent of students don't drink. No, it's like 5%, tops...
User avatar #39 to #26 - yunogasaii (12/04/2013) [-]
I turned 21 a few months ago, I can legally drink. I hate drinking though, and most likely never will. I only know a few people that actually drink, so 5% doesn't seem even close.
User avatar #66 to #39 - oborawatabinost (12/04/2013) [-]
Yeah. I'm only 18, and I had an alcoholic dad and a girlfriend whom I was very very close to suddenly dump me to go get drunk and party. So yeah, I hate it too.
#25 - marodax (12/04/2013) [-]
Is that....is that even possible to say to another man....
User avatar #41 to #25 - pawnman (12/04/2013) [-]
I don't drink at all and people are baffled when they offer me a drink and i refuse and get water or soda instead. Hey, some girls like it. Shows that you are responsible or some ******** like that.
User avatar #105 to #41 - marodax (12/05/2013) [-]
Understandable, but people are getting the wrong idea obviously with this troll bait bull **** . I'm just joking around, there are many respectable people who don't drink.
User avatar #40 to #25 - sketchE (12/04/2013) [-]
im very picky with my alcohol if im not already drunk and we havent been buying anything ill drink
#18 - benschien (12/03/2013) [-]
well i get totally wasted at least twice a week and i'm having the time of my life every time. being an introvert i find it hard to talk to people i dont know, but when im drunk i'm much more open. found a lot of good friends this way. i'm really wondering how so many people on this site got no friends at all, just get wasted with some guys and it happens all by itself.

User avatar #99 to #18 - theivindon (12/04/2013) [-]
i love drinking, when im drunk i suddenly get smooth with the ladies and i become friendly to other guys. im not afraid to be myself when im drunk.
#86 to #18 - lnsomniac (12/04/2013) [-]
Honestly I never used to drink and had maybe 3 good friends and was socially awkward. I started drinking 2 years ago and I can confidently say that was the best decision of my life. I've made too many friends to count, every weekend I have the time of my life and basically the last 2 years have been better than the first 18 combined.
User avatar #74 to #18 - avatarsarefornoobs (12/04/2013) [-]
thats no way to live. relying on alcohol to make you into a more social person is a terrible idea. if anything, it will make you a less responsible, careless person. thats all bad if you are just hanging with your friends or whatever but if the intention is to build social relationships, you'll do that a lot better when you are sober and thinking clearly.

and dont tell people to get hammered to make friends, thats just dumb. really.
#92 to #74 - stopsdropsand (12/04/2013) [-]
Living without friends is no way to live. If he needs to be inhibited to meet new people, that's fine as long as he doesn't need to stay drunk to maintain those relationships. As a university student, I've met a lot of people on my drunk weekends. But I interact with them mostly during the week when I am sober. Alcohol isn't as bad as you believe it is.
User avatar #62 to #18 - durkadurka ONLINE (12/04/2013) [-]
If you stopped drinking, would they still be your friends?

It would be better to actually work on talking to people instead of relying on a crutch.
User avatar #60 to #18 - drunkasaurus (12/04/2013) [-]
Alcohol is my favorite thing about life tbh
User avatar #59 to #18 - theflamingfire (12/04/2013) [-]
You live in germany your beer can get you drunk and taste good
User avatar #51 to #18 - srapture (12/04/2013) [-]
That's exactly the case with me. It also allows me to feel not-awkward enough to dance, while also ignoring how ******* dreadfully **** all club music is that I have to endure for the night.
User avatar #52 to #51 - srapture (12/04/2013) [-]
Excluding that Wake Me Up song. I like that song.
User avatar #47 to #18 - Shiny (12/04/2013) [-]
If you're only able to socialize when drunk, then the friends you've made aren't your friends. They're your drunk self's friends.
User avatar #88 to #47 - popkornking (12/04/2013) [-]
That's not true for all cases at all, just because you meet someone when you're drunk doesn't mean you won't have anything in common with them, he's saying alcohol makes it easier for him to interact and therefore actually meet people he shares common interests with, those common interests don't just vanish as he sobers up.
User avatar #45 to #18 - xdeathspawnx (12/04/2013) [-]
I find it hard to hit on girls or make the move at the right time but you're right, when you're drunk you kind of just run on autopilot, and if you say something dumb usually nobody remembers. If you do end up saying something moderately funny everyone thinks its the funniest joke in the world.
#27 to #18 - Womens Study Major (12/04/2013) [-]
LOL yea go find guys and get wasted with them you will have the time of your life. "Not.".
User avatar #32 to #27 - benschien (12/04/2013) [-]
well that's true but i wasnt referring to getting drunk with random people as havin the time of ur life, im mostly drinking with my best friends. im just saying that it makes finding friends really easy if you're not a total idiot or lie puking in the corner
User avatar #23 to #18 - coookiecrisp (12/04/2013) [-]

Don't know why anyone wouldn't want to drink. Then again, I have a substance abuse problem.
#12 to #9 - asgerfyr (12/03/2013) [-]
"substance abuse problem"
You see the problem in that statement?
User avatar #13 to #12 - shadowsynergy (12/03/2013) [-]
Nope, what would that be?
#14 to #13 - asgerfyr (12/03/2013) [-]
literally, it's the word "problem" in your sentence.
How can an abuse not be a problem
User avatar #15 to #14 - shadowsynergy (12/03/2013) [-]
Well it's not killing me, and I'm not in poverty. So It's only as much of a problem as I say it is.
#16 to #15 - asgerfyr (12/03/2013) [-]
i dunno man, the word abuse is by definition a problem. otherwise it wouldn't be abuse
User avatar #53 to #16 - Dwarf (12/04/2013) [-]
You're implying that child abuse is now a problem...
User avatar #17 to #16 - shadowsynergy (12/03/2013) [-]
I consider it abuse because I use to escape reality. Otherwise I wouldn't consider it a problem.

I know what you mean, the first couple of times I did not have fun and thought it was kind of dumb. Then one night I just said **** it and just kept drinking more and more at a really fun party. It turned out that I just had a high tolerance and was not drinking enough before, so I had never been really drunk. A lot of it depends on where you are and who you are with.
User avatar #55 to #46 - tightastic (12/04/2013) [-]
No I was actually drunk. Did shots and all. I didn't like the way it made me feel...Made my mind all fuzzy and ****

I'll admit that I drink alcohol, but I only drink slightly more often than someone who doesn't drink alcohol at all. It's awesome, though, since I can make 2 liters of the stuff last 1-2 years, whereas most of my friends who drink can't make the same last more than 1-2 days.
User avatar #85 to #8 - wallbuilder ONLINE (12/04/2013) [-]
So, you admit to drinking alcohol on occasion, huh? You disgust me. Just die.
User avatar #3 - yournewestgod (12/03/2013) [-]
I have an alcohol allergy, it runs in my family.
I'm always the DD and always have to babysit all my drunk friends.
User avatar #30 to #3 - srskate (12/04/2013) [-]
Have you ever tried alcohol? I feel like your family is lying to you.

I could be entirely off base, though.
User avatar #33 to #30 - yournewestgod (12/04/2013) [-]
Oh I've tried it, and I'm not nearly as bad as some of my family, who will literally die if they drink.
It makes me break out horribly in hives, and I get way too drunk too fast, though that may due to a lack of tolerance.
I will drink on very rare occasions, and never very much at a time.
And I try not to drink in public at all, so that leaves me as the DD.
User avatar #34 to #33 - srskate (12/04/2013) [-]
I've honestly never heard of an alcohol allergy. I'm curious, have you used hand sanitizer before? Just wondering how many alcohols set you off.
User avatar #35 to #34 - yournewestgod (12/04/2013) [-]
I believe it has to do with the fermentation process its self. And sake doesn't effect me at all, so it's probably something to due with the grains or hops.
I don't normally have a reaction when an alcoholic beverage touches my skin, and never had any with and sanitation alcohols or ethanol alcohols.
#36 to #35 - srskate (12/04/2013) [-]
Interesting. I'd bet it isn't the alcohol then, but then again, I'm not you so I can't say.

Good luck with that though.
User avatar #2 - roderick (12/03/2013) [-]
Like adifferentjones said, If I ever went out with friends that wanted to drink, I'd wind up being the DD because I don't drink.
User avatar #1 - adifferentjones (12/03/2013) [-]

User avatar #42 to #1 - pawnman (12/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #24 to #1 - herptyderpies (12/04/2013) [-]

User avatar #22 to #1 - lasmamoe (12/04/2013) [-]
