Please answer me this: How would you feel, if everyone started to pour their hate on something you liked really much, like your girlfriend (if you have one)?
Well, I'm sorry to say this good Sir, butt you are an Ass, there is just no putting it nicer.
If you so ******* hate this show, you don't have to post it all in the comments, you're just staying longer. DW is gonna stay on this site, no matter what, so you either get used to it or get out; it's your choice.

You've got a pretty insane misconception of Americans, then, bro.

I quite like americans.
thought the fact that by your law a man with history of domestic violence to the point of sending wife into hospital days at the time can buy an military grade weapons during the divorce with absolutely no oversight scares the **** out of me.
Mind you, I have nothing against guns. I own a Smith & Wesson SD40 and a sweet old 1973 WR droplock shotgun. I just don't think insane people should have such an easy time getting guns.
User avatar #72 to #69 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
Same. I honestly believe that they need to tighten up on the mental health checks. To my knowledge, someone that has gone to prison on violent charges involving weapons can't own a gun, but it really depends on the state you're in. In Texas, you have to pass a test in order to have a concealed-carry license. It's a gun-safety, accuracy, and knowledge test, so it's not too difficult. In New York, they make you lock your gun up and have the ammo away from the weapon if you want to bring it somewhere.

Those are some classic weapons, by the way!
#74 to #72 - angelusprimus (11/18/2013) [-]
I agree with you.
and thanks, my gf picked them out. I'm originally from Bosnia, I wanted an AK-47
User avatar #76 to #74 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
Ahh! The AK's amazing. Have a friend from Purto Rico who let me try his out. Accurate, light, and just great all-around. Honestly, though, a double barrel and a hand gun are a great couple of weapons to have.

How is it in Bosnia these days? I haven't heard any news about Bosnia. Everything's been about China and the Philippians.
#80 to #76 - angelusprimus (11/18/2013) [-]
I like them. I'm a old european martial arts receationist so I collect swords and armor. Her highness wanted some guns in the house so I wouldn't try to charge an armed thief with a longsword.

I haven't been back there since 2006. But what I hear from family its still a mess. Not on a level where visitors notice, its a nice place to visit, great food. But to live there is an Kafkian nightmare of inefficient bureocracy and corruption. My mom and dad and I moved to Netherlands back in the nineties and I've been in USA since college.

User avatar #90 to #80 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
That sounds great! I've never heard of European martial arts. I've practiced Chinese, but how does European work and what kinds of weapons are involved?

inefficient bureaucracy? Isn't it like that everywhere that bureaucracy is established? I'm not a big fan of those faceless freaks.
#99 to #90 - angelusprimus (11/18/2013) [-]
We are called ARMA (Association for Renaissance Martial Arts)
We are trying to reconstruct lost martial arts from pre-gunpowder era. Most people just focus on the longsword, but its a complete set. Longsowrd, greatsword, single sword, sword & buckler, sword & dagger, rapier, rapier & dagger, just dagger, polearm, and short staff.
Also kampfringen, which is a style of unarmed combat. Wrestling and kicking and punching. Very "if it works its legal" style

Well, its bad everywhere, but in bosnia its a nightmare. I wanted a picture ID here, and one afternoon in DMV and I'm done. My cousin spent three days getting his renewed. in average six hours a day.
User avatar #103 to #99 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
Woa. An entire three days to get your license renewed? That's insane.

That really sounds like a brutal kind of fighting >_< So, it's kind of a revival of old-style combat? I can see how that's useful. Sounds like fun!
#106 to #103 - angelusprimus (11/18/2013) [-]
Its really fun. It hasn't been around very long, and we refuse to "borrow" from other styles of combat. And its very effective, not as brutal as it sounds, and no worse then asian styles.
Its a reconstruction. There are a lot of books, manuals, traiing sheets left. We are trying to find them, apply them, learn and really revive those lost arts. We already know so much, and people were so wrong thinking that knights were slow or that swords were extremely heavy.
I really love the sword. Not to mention ever since I started training in full armor every day for two hours I've shed most of my extra weight and gained a lot of muscle, especially in shoulders and arms.
User avatar #114 to #106 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
That sounds awesome! You train in full armor? That must be uncomfortable, but it seems like a really fun recreational activity. It's good that there are people who are working on reviving old martial arts. I'd hate to see things like that lost.
#138 to #114 - angelusprimus (11/18/2013) [-]
<- In the group we train dressed like this
There is training in armor, but not at a beginner level. Armor training is specialized training. But I do it on my own, because I'm into it and its an amazing exercise.

technically (and I mean this in the exact meaning of the word), a man convicted of domestic violence should not be able to get his hands on a gun. It is a federal law.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domestic_Violence_Offender_Gun_Ban

There are a few loopholes, but they are hard as **** to exploit. Our problem lies with the enforcement of the law, not our lack of having one is what I'm trying to say.

#70 to #60 - dontknowmeatall (11/18/2013) [-]
That's what distinguishes Americans from civilised people. You could be starting a galactic war just for your stupidity.
User avatar #83 to #70 - ilovehitler (11/18/2013) [-]
If they have the technology to travel through time and space, they should have the technology to monitor our planet.
If they monitor our planet, they should know to knock on the door, or ring the door bell.
If a human just showed up in my house, I would assume malicious intent. Someone with malicious intent within your house must be dealt with. I see no reason it'd be different for an Alien.
#71 to #70 - mistafishy ONLINE (11/18/2013) [-]
Civilized. Bitch.
User avatar #73 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
The idea behind having guns is purely political. It keeps the leadership in check on every level of government. A governor will never try to do something that the majority doesn't like because he knows that somewhere in that majority, there's an insane dude with a high powered sniper rifle.

We don't do things because they're logical or safe, we do them for quite the opposite. I like to think that it keeps a sort of essential balance in society between order and chaos. Too much order, and you end up with cameras on every street corner and police breaking into your house without warrant. Too much chaos, and you've got Anarchy!
User avatar #78 to #73 - ilovehitler (11/18/2013) [-]
yes because our government has never done anything unpopular with the American people in the slightest
User avatar #85 to #78 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
Oh, they have. Most of the time, it just ends up with protesting because it's usually not too serious. However, it stops them from doing anything egregious like coming into your home and taking your children away so that they can work in a camp or committing genocide or requiring that you keep some kind of Orwellian device in your home that tracks video and audio at all times. They either don't do it at all, or they do it clandestinely by, say, tapping your phone calls.
User avatar #86 to #85 - ilovehitler (11/18/2013) [-]
err, mate. I fully realize that our government is in general disliked and distrusted by our people. My post contained heavy sarcasm.
but good points after that
User avatar #87 to #86 - yuukoku (11/18/2013) [-]
...I misread "our" as "your," but I saw the sarcasm. I was just humoring you to get the point across, but I was talking about the U.S. =w=

Our government isn't exactly liked by our people, but I've heard a lot of people complaining about the British government these days. What's your opinion?
User avatar #88 to #87 - ilovehitler (11/18/2013) [-]
I honestly don't know enough about the British government to comment on the subject. The only government I have anything more than a passing knowledge about is the American government.
#95 to #88 - teranin ONLINE (11/18/2013) [-]
So... you love hitler, but have absolutely no idea how the Nazi party reformed the German government and began the third reich? Or any of the policies/actions taken within that government?

Must be the stache.

Haha, I suppose I should have clarified.
The only modern, and still functioning government I have anything more than a passing knowledge about is the American government.

It's just an old as **** British joke that Americans are trigger happy psychopaths. My history textbook had a cartoon from the 1800s depicting an American in a restaurant pulling a gun on the guy across the table when he asked him to pass the mustard.
User avatar #112 - ninegagxd (11/18/2013) [-]

User avatar #122 to #112 - schneidend (11/18/2013) [-]
It's not so much anti-America as poking fun at America's stereotyped gung-ho nature. The British do self-referential humor as well, just like America pokes fun at Brits.
User avatar #126 to #122 - ninegagxd (11/18/2013) [-]
