Minnesota is "land of 10,000 lakes" shouldn't we be part of the water tribe?

I've always wanted to be a water bender. I'm happy to find my state is in the water tribe.

According to this, I'm from the Earth Kingdom but live in the Water Tribes...

...

... Yeah, I can dig it. I don't have anything in common with any of these people.

So i was watching some of the Revolution show, after i left the TV on by accident, and the 1st thing I see is some US troops in a stand off against a small force of mounted Texans led by the secretary of Interior of the sovereign nation of Texas. I was just thinking about how I could see my people doing that.

Just a minor complaint from the asshole standing behind me, who wants Minnesota to be in the Water Tribes as well. His reasoning: Land of Ten Thousand Lakes and northern most continental state, so fits for both water and ice.

And now that I think about it, isn't the stereotype of Minnesota always a winter wasteland?
