When people say gamers aren't being productive...
Seriously :l I mean, what is "being productive."
As far as I know, we are all going to die, at least I'm going to enjoy my life and spent plenty of time doing what I love (gaming) as long as you're not struggling through and hating life or making life hard on others WHO CARES?!

Gaming = consumption of media. Now I know people who pull several hour gaming marathons.

Now Imagine if someone watches TV for 6 hours a day several days a week. Wouldn't you find that odd? Granted TV is far more passive than gaming, but they're both still consumption of media. You're not producing anything while you're doing it.

How could you be productive? Volunteering. Studying to achieve greater roles in society so you can do more to better society. Engaging in social interactions to help both yourself and other people develop and broaden your knowledge of the universe. Literally anything other than sit on your butt and consume media.

Everything is fine in moderation, but you need to get that if someone thinks you're gaming too much it's akin to someone thinking you watch too much TV.

Fair point but not exactly what I had meant.

Productivity true definition isn't exactly what I had meant, being that some people productivity could change how many things work in the world, such as new inventions and cures of disease.
But things many people consider to be proper usage of time, such as working extensive hours on hobbies people deem to be normal, such as working out, gardening, sports, Ect. People would normally see those things and figure "wow, that person knows how to spend there time well."
but would see other people like gamers and say things along the line of "wow what a ******* waist of time, that guy has achieved nothing."

Now i don't mean to be depressive when i say this, but in the long run everything you do could be considered a waist of time unless you enjoyed the time or it helped you enjoy something in the future. In the long run everyone dies, so all the things people think are important such as those things listed above will have been just as much of a waist of time as gaming and other things that are usually made fun of.

So... does this mean HIV is cured or has a chance of being cured soon?

Sorry if someone explained in the comments, too lazy to read.

If you ask my Economics teacher there already is a cure for AIDs. His story goes something like this.

"I was in mali, over there there was a group of scientists, they could not afford to goto america and pay for the patents and the tests to ensure that their drug was not harmful. So they only produced small amounts and only used it on patents that came to them. The creators were afraid that a US /Chinese/Japanese company would steal it and patent it for themselves."

He attests to seeing people with many symptoms cured of all disease after taking this drug (understand that it was after many months, and sometimes years), but with their level of medical ability, the drug cured AIDs. My professor was born in africa and has traveled most of the continent before getting his degrees.

While I dont believe he would lie about such a thing, I take it with a grain of salt due to the limits of reliable medical analysis in that area of africa.

I remember seeing Foldit in a documentary. Its actually really amazing and I think revolutionary. Basically the community itself it big and they all work on many problems.

Look up Foldit on google or youtube or something its really cool.
