Here in Loveland, CO, if a cop busts you with weed, he/ she won't do **** about it. Our police don't care about it, and won't even confiscate it.

Federally yes, but not locally. And the feds are shut down right now, so I don't think they'll come after me for the half in my dresser.

It isn't lawless... Departments that keep us safe such as Police and the army are still active and being paid for. Anything that is essential to others is still active.

that is a really ******* accurate statement. do you notice anything in your daily lives when the government is not working? of course not. because they don't do **** but argue
i know this is inaccurate. just go bother someone else

Actually, the government shutdown is solely based on a national level...there is a certain amount of people that are considered "Non-Essential" And are shutdown during the government, they dont lose their job. They're just forbidden to do their job. State government controls Emergency services, Army is still active. There are just an estimated 800,000 people who are laid off work because they are non-essential.

So to say that essential things are still active is 100% true.
Source? Taking a course in Economics. Just covered this today because of stupid people thinking Weed is legal and whatnot

I live in the Ozark mountains near the Buffalo River, the forest rangers are arresting people for trespassing when they canoe downstream(tourist thing they do around here) because the forest is "closed"

Lawless? Nope. Police officer is not a government funded job, it's a state funded job. So...police are still active.

the federal government may be down, but that's why we have state governments too, so there are still emergency services and laws are still in full effect and being enforced if the federal government takes a dive, it keeps the country together in times like this

But back then nobody knew that it was shutdown so they just walked around like nothing happened, now cops are ridding around shirtless on their motorcycles picking up chicks to be the new "Queen" of their respective motorcycle gangs/tribes, seriously it's like mad max out there I think I saw someone eat a guys face... wait, wait I'm being told it's just a bath salt fueled gay pride parade.

> Go to my friend's house a few weeks ago
> ****** neighborhood in West Baltimore
> Lock my car like 7 times to be sure I locked it
> Fast forward two days
> Go back to my car
> Hubcaps all missing
> Door unlocked
> GPS gone (it didn't work though so I don't care too much)
> Stereo hanging halfway out of where it's supposed to be
> Bunch of wires hanging under my feet
> Wiring in the car is all ****** up, someone must have tried/failed to hotwire it
> Start searching the car to see if anything else is missing
> Check under the seats
> Find a big bag full of tiny baggies, and about two ounces of weed
> Sell all the weed to pay for repairs

I thaught the movie was about the government telling the people to kill each other and calling it a holiday so that they could get rid of all the poor people and "undesirables".

Doesn't everything go back to normal the next day in the movie? I've never seen it though ,that's what i gathered from it.

Yea a 12 hour period at night once per year when all crime is legal (except using WMD's) and all emergency services are shut down. It's used so that people could "vent" all their negative emotions and go bat **** insane for 1 night.
