No... They are venomous, not poisonous. Even if the bite is left untreated though, it only occasionally caused deaths. I say "caused" because we have a pretty effective antivenin nowadays.

My apologies. Not very well versed in this kind of stuff.
I'm not necessarily talking about death, just being 'venomised' in general. I doubt it's a very pleasurable experience.

"Historical sources show that when left untreated, the bite can cause "great suffering" for some weeks, and occasional fatalities." Taken from the wiki page. So yeah, I don't think it's very pleasurable either, unless you're into that kind of thing...

For future reference, by the way, venoms are injected and poisons are ingested. That is the difference.

There's probably at least one person who purposely gets bitten for the sexual thrill.

Thanks!

I like to live by the general rule that everything is a turn-on for somebody. Takes away a lot of the shock value out of the internet, at least for me.

That is a Black Widow, and a Brown Recluse.

I believe they are considered to be one of the most venomous spiders there are.

Black widow and red back are the same no? I spent the first 8 years of my life in Australia and we always called them red backs.

As an Australian I can verify that both of those spiders have enough venom to kill if not paralyze you slowly and painfully, to be bitten by both at once is not reccomended

I thought that even a black widow has little chance of killing you if you're a healthy size.

I watched this video of one person getting a brown recluse and black widow spider on his fingers. Turns out the spiders didn't bite, since they weren't scared by movements, they didn't bite.

Usually black widows and brown recluse DON'T bite unless they feel cornered. Most bites were from brown recluse getting tangled in bedsheets or clothes, and black widow bites happen from plumbers sticking their hands into dark holes and from the spiders settling in a shoe and a person putting their foot in there.

Slowly ask your friend to burn your house and yourself as well. Your sacrifice will be noted and will be written down in history book as Chapter 18.
