Sugar is not going to help a burn. But honey will. Honey is a natural anti inflammatory which will help sore throats, but it is also bacteria resistant and will keep a wound disinfected and some clinicals suggest it will help assist the wound in healing. Adding sugar to the wound does not promote activity on the part of the body, nor does it prevent infection. It can somewhat change the pH of the area for a short time which may have an effect but its otherwise pointless.

Use honey. Protect Bees.

For the sugar one, the same is true of salt.
